What is Nimbalyst?
Nimbalyst is a local, visual workspace for building with Claude Code and Codex. Nimbalyst provides a session and task manager and visual editors for markdown, mockups, diagrams, drawings, csv, mcp, data-models, code, sessions, and tasks.
Nimbalyst enables builders (developers, product managers, designers, and others) working with agents to achieve:
- Higher bandwidth: a visual workspace to collaborate with agents on sessions, files, and tasks.
- Richer context: live diffs, linked files, and integrated editors keep you and your agents on the same page
- Faster workflows: agents build custom tools and visual interfaces for use cases right inside the workspace where the developer work
Example use cases:
- Managing 10 parallel research, writing, planning, and coding sessions. Organize them. Find them. Resume them. Manage them in a kanban board. Run the coding ones in worktrees. Group the relevant ones in workstreams (like folders for sessions). See the files that a session managed. Edit and approve them inline. Keep up with your sessions, respond, monitor from mobile app.
- Collaborating with an agent on a detailed plan. Use agent to write the plan in a markdown. Edit the markdown WYSIWYG manually. Have agent make changes. See its changes and review them, approve/reject. Iterate. Use the plan to make a mermaid or excalidraw diagram. Edit that diagram manually, with agent, iterate. Include it in the markdown plan. Now use both of these to make a mockup of the front end or datamodel of the database. Same. Edit manually. Iterated with Agent.
- Organizing tasks, plans, projects. Use agent to add, edit, move, organize your tasks/items/trackers in Nimbalyst. Manually edit and update. Have agent auto-update as you do sessions and work. Link tasks to sessions to files. Have the agent act based on the tasks/trackers.
