Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

OneStream is our only financial budgeting and forecasting tool. It replaced a spiderweb of spreadsheets that we used to use for budgeting and forecasting, and has streamlined the process for the business leaders responsible. We are currently migrating to its new "SAIF" functionality as well, to provide us with an AI forecast.

Pros

  • Workflow Management.
  • Organization of Data.
  • Ease of Use for back-end administrators.

Cons

  • Reporting or Dashboarding.
  • Unique Terminology - Hard Learning Curve.

Likelihood to Recommend

OneStream is, I believe, best in class for Budgeting and Forecasting. Users appreciate the structured approach of inputting their numbers and/or reviewing AI suggestions and then signing off on their workflows. Administrators appreciate being able to oversee a large organization's processes from one seat, especially during Budgeting Season and the Forecast Process.

We are an Onestream implementation partner. At our customers, we implement OneStream for streamlining monthly closes, planning, forecasting, and reporting. We are very happy with OneStream as it provides the platform for us to support our customers optimally. OneStream is a fast, reliable, proven, and flexible platform that allows for an optimal configuration for each of our customers.

Pros

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We're in the middle of implementing OneStream for Global Financial Close and Consolidation module as well as Task Manager. We're currently consolidating in Excel and OneStream should be able to help us to do this in the system. Next phase would include People Planning and Budgeting/Forecasting. We're still evaluating whether Account Reconciliations is something we would implement.

Pros

  • Consolidation
  • Workflows
  • Good structure for activities done by the end users

Cons

  • Easy to pick up simple task of navigating around
  • The application seems a bit more technical for business users
  • Great structure within the system that's done by using the workflows.

Likelihood to Recommend

Financial Planning / Forecasting, People Planning, and Financial Close and Consolidation are well suite while we are still evaluating GL Account Reconciliations and other solutions available via the Solution Exchange. Overall, we believe OneStream is going to allow us to "get out of excel" and perform Global Consolidation in the system.

Statutory, Management and Regulatory reporting

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

OneStream (OS) is used for Statutory, Management and Regulatory reporting. For statutory purposes, the need was identified to be able to produce annual financial statements on a consolidation level. OneStream is used to consolidate company data up to a Holdings level. By completing forms in OneStream information is gathered in the system and this is used to produce the disclosures required for statutory reporting.

For Management reporting actual and budget data is available in the system and reports were designed to have a management view.

For Regulatory reporting on the BA100 and BA120, which uses financial data, the regulatory reports had to correspond to the statutory reports. By using OneStream, one source of data is used for reporting, with no discrepancies between for example profit, total assets and total liabilities on the different reports.

Pros

  • Roll up of data to a Consolidation level as per structures
  • Linking with Excel and the use of GetCell formulas to create your own reports

Cons

  • Easier drill down functionality, one click to take you to the underlying detail.
  • Consolidation within OneStream seems to be a difficult process.

Likelihood to Recommend

OneStream is well suited for statutory reporting purposes. For Management reporting users tend to require more detailed information. User acceptance of the system is very important

As a OneStream Diamond Partner, we work with a number of companies who present us with various issues associated with their close or forecast cycles. OneStream Rocks

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

OneStream is our financial reporting for the Magnet Wire Northa American Business Unit. Forecasting & Budgeting was time consuming. OneStream helped with this streamline.

Pros

  • workflows
  • security
  • account reconciliations.
  • loading actuals
  • parcel post - automatic sending of data

Cons

  • more specific training videos
  • easier instructions on implementing an application
  • Excel XfSet and XfGet

Likelihood to Recommend

Work flows and being able to go from excel to a cube view. the different ways you have to pull data. One of our issues were it does notwork well is drill down and digging into the data, but most of that is on us as our GL System was not able to get the detailed data that we wanted.

OneStream made planning and reporting efficient

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

OneStream is used for

- Consolidation of 8 international subsidiaries, based on SAP R/3 local data.

- Monthly detailed financial forecast based S&OP plan data and other transactional data extracted from SAP BW, the forecast calculations include profit and loss details on entity level with IC revenue, raw material cost updates and balance sheet calculations with specific details for working capital and other inputs.

Use case of the forecast is to track results versus target and previous forecast.

- Reporting set was build for management reviews, which can be quickly generated by changing variables.

Pros

  • Workflows to have step by step processes
  • Import data from different sources with validation of metadata and extensive transformation rules
  • Consistently calculate all variables
  • Freedom to define cost drivers with member formulas

Cons

  • Deploying of market place solutions is cumbersome and often requires external support.
  • Calculation of a planning scenario can take quite some time depending on the data structure.
  • Version upgrades require preparation and resources.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is good for detailed planning based on workflow. Functionality was added to determine raw material purchases, which works well with details we already used to calculate inventories.

Reporting can be very flexible when metadata naming convention is consistent.

Metadata organization is not straightforward, new items are always added at the bottom and can't be sorted.
