Oracle Fusion ERP Cloud A good SaaS based ERP system with room for improvement.

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We implement Oracle ERP Cloud for various customers. It helps organizations manage their enterprise resources in business areas such as Financials, Supply Chain, Human Capital management, etc. It's a comprehensive suite of all the required business processes necessary to manage an organization's operations. We also implement integrations to and from the Oracle ERP Cloud, facilitating connections with a variety of heterogeneous systems.

Pros

  • Oracle Financials.
  • Oracle Supply Chain.

Cons

  • There are some limitations since it's a SaaS model.
  • Some issues in ESS job sets, reporting areas, and page customization capabilities need to be improved.

Likelihood to Recommend

Oracle Fusion Cloud is best suited if a customer moves from Oracle eBusiness Suite (on-prem) to a SaaS offering. The transition is comparatively manageable to implement. However, the customer must understand that we cannot have too many customizations in the SaaS model, so many heavily customized on-prem applications would need to be incorporated in the Cloud by using Cloud tools like Oracle Integration Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Autonomous Database, Oracle APEX provisioned on OCI, etc.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use this at multiple manufacturing sites in our organization, with different languages and different currencies. I primarily use this for Finance and Accounting, as well as internal reporting and analysis. The main advantage is that most sites are now on one common platform, which allows us to share best practices among the various teams at different locations.

Pros

  • Uploading large data sets
  • Customized general ledger mapping
  • Maintain a global chart of accounts

Cons

  • Inconsistency across different modules
  • Error resolution is not easy to follow
  • Sometimes you have to click "OK" too many times to accept an input

Likelihood to Recommend

This works well for manufacturing companies without a lot of unique processes that would require customization. The most important thing is to get a high quality consulting team to help with the implementation. Otherwise, you will waste time doing what you think is right, only to find out later that it was wrong.

I mostly provided support to Order Management and WME, AR, and OTBI to users of the Warehouse (CETI) Sales and Customer service. I used to research issues in some Orders, also to create MOS SRs, and follow up until resolution. I also managed the Upload of the customer Catalog and help with Customers Configuration.

Pros

  • Creation of Sales Orders
  • Generation of Bills/Manifesto.
  • Auto invoice Generation
  • Auto Pricing
  • Auto Accounting

Cons

  • Integration with WME must be much more simple and more transparent and done totally by Oracle and not by Customers.
  • Modification and Cancelation of SOs should be easier
  • Modification or cancelation should be easily reflected on Inventory Shipments.

Likelihood to Recommend

In my experience, Oracle Cloud is very well suited for Pharma, Medical Devices, and any other Medium to Large Companies that count on a dedicated team to implement and support post-implementation. We are a publicly-traded healthcare company with over 50000 full-time and part-time employees. We also currently have about 15000 contingent workers in our workforce. Oracle Cloud ERP is very well suited for an enterprise our size. Our financial department relies heavily on Oracle cloud ERP for daily business functions like procurement, supply chain, accounts reconciliation, ledgers, payables, receivables, and supply chain logistics. The executive team uses this system for project management and our risk assessment and management department for Compliance, risk management portfolio.

350 Ft Review

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are Oracle partners and implement Oracle Cloud ERP for our clients. Previously I worked for one of the largest healthcare organizations in the US and I was implementing with my implementation partners. I have implemented Source to Settle and Demand to Deliver modules. I have done configurations, ran CRP and SIT cycles with end-users. The business problem mainly in healthcare is the standardization of legacy systems to one common ERP system across the healthcare environment

Pros

  • completely Browser-based , providing spreadsheets wherever possible to upload mass data
  • Standardization of common business workflows across different verticals
  • ease of use reporting capabilities through Oracle transactional business intelligence

Cons

  • integrations to different systems can be complex, most of the time other systems have to adapt to Oracle
  • Some features in Planning are not tested enough and bugs can be encountered when working with end-users
  • the product can take a steep learning curve to learn for end-users across different verticals due to standardization

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited: Procure to pay cycles, especially procurement, agreements, requisitions, and purchase orders. Min Max replenishment, Cycle Counting and Physical Inventory, Product management, items and items categories, Organization and enterprise setup, Forecast generation, causal factors, Data collections, PAR replenishment through RF SMart integration, report running and creation through Oracle transaction business intelligence

Oracle Cloud generic review

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Process transactions using Oracle cloud. Supplier invoices are processed. Customer invoices are processed general ledger is used for accounting transactions reports and analysis etc. Assets, cash management, sub-ledger accounting security features are used to process day-to-day transactions. Train users on the Oracle ERP module to use for business processing

Pros

  • Reports and Analytics window to define custom reports
  • FBDI and ADFDI file upload process to upload all transaction data
  • Tracking all setups as a project and facilitate ease for implementation team

Cons

  • Lots and Lots of room for improvement in providing direct DB view only access similar to EBS R12
  • Oracle Channel Revenue Management -- functionality is not as R12 -- lots of functionality lost.
  • Ability to add custom functions in SLA -- this is available in R12 -- not available in R13 cloud.

Likelihood to Recommend

Oracle applications Cloud version is plug and plays if the business is simple and normal nature -- not many customizations required -- reports and base level processes can help in meeting the business needs. Businesses with medium to complex processes -- Oracle cloud do not fit the bill -- they need major work outside the system and use Cloud version for financial transactions and audit purposes. -- this is not the case with R12 -- the application on-premise version is scalable and customers can add additional programs to meet the business needs --- no custom objects on Oracle SAAS is a big letdown. Using Oracle PAAS for custom objects needs lots of manpower to implement and support.
