I have used Submittal Exchange on many construction projects over several years. We use it to process the Submittals and other construction contract documents.
Pros
- Submittal Exchange allow simultaneous review of submittals
- Submittal Exchange has automatic notifications when a document has advanced to the next step
- Submittal Exchange allows for customization of notifications
Cons
- The pdf mark-up tools are not as good as Bluebeam
- Submittal Exchange pricing has become prohibitive
- I have not used Submittal Exchange for maintaining current document sets
Likelihood to Recommend
Primavera Submittal Exchange is as good as any tool I have used for simultaneous distribution and review of construction submittal. I do use Blue Beam to do the PDF editing as my preferred tool and save a local copy of all the documents. Submittal Exchange keeps an archive and automated logs, but since it is a third party system, my company policy is to save a copy of all documents to our server.
