Quick Bid is a Perfect Fit

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Quick Bid is primarily used in our Self Perform division for drywall, carpentry, demolition, and painting. It is by far the best software for this type of work. It is very efficient compared to other options. The features allow for numerous reports to be generated for both office and field use. I can't imagine doing the quality and quantity of work without it.

Pros

  • Quick Bid easily allows users to build assemblies and price projects with high levels of detail.
  • The E-Quote option saves a huge amount of time in analyzing vendor quotes and keeping things organized.

Cons

  • The initial setup of the database can take a fair amount of time to set up, but once complete it can be used for years with only small additions to fit the users' needs.
  • I have been waiting for the schedule of values option to be complete to help aid in billing. it was supposed to be released, but I have not seen it rolled out yet.

Likelihood to Recommend

Quick Bid is the perfect choice for anyone that wants to put together detailed estimates in a very efficient manner. We price out jobs, including everything needed, down to the screws. It allows you to be very detailed if necessary, or very general by just adding man-hours or allowances.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We're using Quick Bid in our preconstruction department. We use it along with OST. It's a tremendous help in compiling our project costs so that it can be presented in proposal format.

Pros

  • We can put together assemblies that give a true representation of our costs.
  • It allows us to dial in markups in certain areas and in the project overall.

Cons

  • Being able to simplify reports once estimate is complete.
  • Being able to edit assemblies with an entry level user.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited for dialing in on construction pricing for projects that have various types of subcontractor trade-specific items. More suited for trade-specific contractors. Not sure how well this software would work with a general contractor.

QuickBids with QuickBid

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Quick Bid has been used within our organization, Anning Johnson Company, for quite some time now. Instead of having all three departments involved and make the transition at the same time, we actually started our interiors division pioneer the product for us and be the guinea pigs sort of say.

Pros

  • Eliminates the human error of transferring quantities from a take-off to an Excel estimate spreadsheet.
  • Allows changes to be made very easily.
  • Allows you to reassign areas for breakout purposes.

Cons

  • Would like it to be a little more user friendly at startup.
  • Would like to have more support from the software customer service to see how we can use it in different departments within our company.
  • Better short-cut keys for quicker tasks.

Likelihood to Recommend

Quick Bid, like On Screen Take-Off, are very similar in ways that you, as a person or company organization, benefit from using the program. The upside, for me personally, of Quick Bid is that you can reassign areas very easily. When you first start a project you don't always know what type of customer you're dealing with so it's nice to have the flexibility to change your pricing based on different areas.
