OG Giveaway Organizer

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Rafflecopter to run our giveaways. It can be difficult to internally collect information for a giveaway and we have found Rafflecopter to be a solid option when running a giveaway with multiple types of entry. Running giveaway directly through Instagram can require a lot of work like creating spreadsheets of entries.

Pros

  • Multiple Ways to Enter
  • Information on Entries
  • Picking a Winner

Cons

  • Better integration with social media
  • Customizing entries
  • Verification of followers on social media sites

Likelihood to Recommend

Rafflecopter is well suited for giveaways where you want to have people enter in multiple ways and having the option to choose specific ways. For example, if you want people to follow on social media sites (YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) or post on the social media sites. It has a great feature to customize your own option as well. For podcasts like us, we like to have entries follow us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Rafflecopter for any of our contests that we run on social media for our clients. This is one of the best platforms in the world to use for social media giveaways! It was a great price and affordable to most. We love using this and really makes a difference from how we used to run giveaways.

Pros

  • Giveaways
  • Awareness
  • CRM

Cons

  • Selecting winners.
  • Collection of information.
  • Connect-ability

Likelihood to Recommend

This is such an easy platform to set up and connect to the different social media channels that you would want to use for an upcoming giveaway. It makes it simple for your participants to join and is an easy way for you to increase your engagement in the contests.

Rafflecopter was just what we needed

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We would have giveaways of products for a website I owned, so we would use Rafflecopter to help users sign up for the contest and pick a winner. Rafflecopter was a simple and easy way to implement the contest and allow us to do this with minimal effort on our side of things.

Pros

  • Easy to use.
  • Great communication during the contest period.
  • Many options are available for contests.

Cons

  • Maybe more options of how people can earn entries.
  • More use of different social media platforms.

Likelihood to Recommend

Great product to use when running a contest on your website. Easy to use and great customer service if you have any questions. Could use some more variety in options for people to earn entries, but overall great.

Rafflecopter is great for a basic giveaway. Might not be enough for large business/enterprise needs.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Rafflecopter to host giveaways for select departments of our non-profit organization. Rafflecopter provides an easy to setup platform to quickly create a giveaway for lead generation. An example would be to giveaway a pair or running shoes.

Pros

  • Easy to setup
  • Provides a good variety of entry actions
  • Has a simple end user interface

Cons

  • Does not have an API. A knowledge base article saying they are considering one has was last updated 8 years ago.
  • The list of integrated email service providers has not been updated in a very long time.
  • Must login to download payment receipts--no emailed receipt.

Likelihood to Recommend

I'd say that Rafflecopter is a good tool for a basic giveaway. It doesn't seem like they've made any substantial changes in several years. If you're looking to host a one-off or occasional giveaway, Rafflecopter will do what you need it to do, but if a giveaway platform is a major component of your marketing strategy, look elsewhere.

Rafflecopter & Social Media Go Hand In Hand

Rating: 9 out of 10

Pros

  • Rafflecopter helps to connect our business with our clients outside of clinic.
  • Rafflecopter allows the ability for our clients to spread the word about our clinic through our social media efforts.
  • Rafflecopter truly lets us see how successful we are with our clients, especially because if our patients were not truly satisfied with our services, then they would not want to take part in the giveaways and promotions that we run through Rafflecopter.

Cons

  • Be able to eliminate the test entries.
  • Ability to send the winner emails congratulating them outside of having to use Microsoft Outlook.
  • Be able to automatically link Rafflecopter up with our Constant Contact subscriptions to generate emails and to email the winners through it automatically.

Likelihood to Recommend

We would highly recommend Rafflecopter to any other small business owner that is looking for better ways to interact with their customers and build up customer satisfaction and participation in the company. It is especially great how Rafflecopter helps to build our website rankings and social media (i.e., the number of "Likes" on our Facebook page).

Social Media Explorer On A Budget

Rating: 10 out of 10

Pros

  • Rafflecopter provides an outlet for business to engage their social channels with their product or service.
  • The easy-to-use widget gives any customer a chance to win a prize and be engaging with the brand.
  • Not only does Rafflecopter help increase social media awareness for a brand, but it also helps companies conduct market research in real time.

Cons

  • I'd like to see the free version of the widget become more custom so users can tailor it to their liking.

Rafflecopter use on FB by a small B2B company

Rating: 10 out of 10

Pros

  • Fast, clear, and direct responsiveness of customer service.
  • Step by step directions makes for easy contest implementation. Also Rafflecopter makes sure your contest is fully compliant with Facebook policies.
  • Website is fast and easy to navigate. Viewing your contest and making changes is very easy.

Cons

  • The ability to do multiple contests on the FB page, that are separate from one another. Or to have "special" type of contest that is useable for tradeshows. Whether or not the tradeshow contest is connected to FB.
  • Once our contest was up and running, we had a hard time figuring out how to get more people to our contest page. We have a small group [less than 200] and besides just posting on FB, we couldn't get others to our page/contest! Maybe more ideas on how to achieve this? I suspect the info is already somewhere on the Rafflecopter blog, I just need to find it.
  • The "More Upgrades' tag that vibrates at the bottom of the page from where you are working on your contest, gets annoying. I've bought the blogger level, please don't try to upgrade me further.
  • While this wasn't a fault of Rafflecopter, the winner of our first contest turned out to be a FB contester. Meaning the person uses FB exclusively to enter contests for give-aways and freebies. When we picked the winner, if I could have "vetted" the winner to prevent that, then I would have picked a different winner. Cherry picking our winner? You bet, cause this person wasn't ever going to be a customer…

Likelihood to Recommend

Having a good email list of active address would be helpful for converting those addresses to FB followers. Also having an active FB page with plenty of original content will better engage your audience. Having these two things will greatly help your contest with rafflecopter. Using and intergrating rafflecopter is easy and should be a breeze with your campaign. I highly recommend it!
