SafeDNS is highly regarded for its effectiveness in filtering out malicious websites and ensuring network safety. Users have found that the product provides safety and security from a variety of threats, making their internet experience protected. It is particularly valuable for businesses as it allows them to restrict access to certain websites, preventing employees from wasting time on the internet and ensuring content filtering for work devices. SafeDNS is praised for its robustness and reliability, with deployments on internal networks and Azure infrastructure. It is also commonly used in educational settings, providing consistent and effective content filtering for schools.

Customers appreciate SafeDNS not only for its great customer service but also for its competitive pricing. The product's user-friendly interface allows end users to easily maintain content filtering if needed, without requiring extensive technical knowledge. SafeDNS significantly improves network safety with relatively little maintenance required, making it easy to manage when necessary. It has been praised as a cost-effective solution that balances well with customer needs. Users find value in the monthly reports provided by SafeDNS, as they allow them to see the vast numbers of DNS requests being blocked and make necessary changes to the whitelist.

SafeDNS is also an essential tool for protecting public Wi-Fi environments, ensuring a safe internet experience. It is widely used by headless e-commerce organizations to protect their back-end systems and promote online threat protection and internet activity monitoring. In addition, SafeDNS can be tailored to meet specific requirements of programs like CTPAT rules enforced by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The ability to create different user groups and assign policies makes SafeDNS useful for restricting access to certain resources or website categories, providing restrictive control over web access.

Overall, users are satisfied with the performance and functionality of SafeDNS, finding it to be a valuable tool for preventing accidents, protecting against malware, increasing productivity by blocking access to distracting websites during work hours, and optimizing servers and network resources. Its ease of installation, reasonable pricing, effectiveness in blocking access to unwanted content, and the friendly and helpful staff make SafeDNS a popular choice among customers.

Useful for protecting sensitive data: Some users have found SafeDNS to be a valuable tool for safeguarding sensitive information like customer data and financial transactions. They appreciate the added security it provides, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to internet usage.

Effective content filtering: Several reviewers have praised SafeDNS for its efficient filtering feature. It effectively blocks pornographic content and works quickly, enhancing the browsing experience by keeping unwanted websites and pop-ups at bay.

Easy setup and configuration: Many users have reported that setting up and configuring SafeDNS is simple and straightforward. They appreciate the user-friendly interface and find it easy to navigate through different features and settings in the dashboard.

  1. Limited platform compatibility: Some users have expressed frustration with the limited platform compatibility of SafeDNS. Specifically, users have mentioned that there is no iOS agent available, which restricts their ability to utilize the software on their Apple devices.

  2. Restrictive simplicity: Several users have found the simplicity of SafeDNS to be both a positive and a negative aspect of the software. While some appreciate its user-friendly interface, others feel that it oversimplifies features and limits their ability to customize settings according to their specific needs.

  3. Content blocking inaccuracies: A number of reviewers have reported instances where SafeDNS has blocked content that is not pornographic or inappropriate. While they acknowledge that Safe DNS promptly whitelists websites upon request, these incidents still pose an inconvenience for users who are unable to access legitimate content due to false positives in the filtering system.

Since we are a headless ecommerce organization, and it is one in which the front-end and back-end systems are decoupled, meaning that the front-end, which is responsible for presenting the website to customers, is separate from the back-end, which is responsible for managing the ecommerce functionality. In this context, SafeDNS is used to protect the back-end systems, that is the server and database, from online threats and to monitor and control internet activity related to the ecommerce systems. At fabric we use it for the following: 1. Productivity: By using SafeDNS to block access to specific websites, such as social media or gaming sites, during work hours, help increase productivity by reducing distractions for employees. 2. SafeDNS can be configured to block unwanted traffic, this can help to keep the server and the network resources in optimal state, and also it will help in preventing DDoS attacks 3. SafeDNS allows to create different user groups and assign different policies to them, so the startup can restrict access to certain resources, or to certain website categories.
  • Protecting sensitive data: By monitoring and controlling the internet activity on the back-end systems, the startup can protect sensitive data such as customer information, financial transactions, and other sensitive data.
  • By using SafeDNS to monitor and control employee internet activity, a headless e-commerce startup can ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to internet usage, such as data privacy and security laws.
  • SafeDNS can be configured to block unwanted traffic, this can help to keep the server and the network resources in optimal state, and also it will help in preventing DDoS attacks
Cons
  • Filtering accuracy: While SafeDNS provides filtering of websites, it's possible that it could be improved to more accurately identify and block unwanted content. This could be achieved by implementing more advanced algorithms or incorporating more data sources.
  • Reporting and analytics: Some users may find that the reporting and analytics capabilities of SafeDNS are lacking and could be improved, for example by providing more detailed information about internet usage, or more sophisticated filtering and reporting tools.
  • Compatibility: Some organizations may have legacy systems that are not fully compatible with SafeDNS. Improving compatibility could make it easier for these organizations to integrate SafeDNS into their existing infrastructure.
it is well-suited for the following scenarios:Organizations that need to comply with regulatory requirements related to internet usage, such as data privacy and security laws, and that need to monitor and control employee internet activity.Organizations that are concerned about online threats and need to protect their networks and endpoints from malware, phishing, and other types of malicious content.Organizations that need to improve productivity by reducing distractions for employees, and/or need to restrict access to specific websites during work hours.Organizations that need to protect sensitive data such as customer information, financial transactions and other sensitive data, by monitoring and controlling the internet activity on the back-end systems. However, SafeDNS may not be as appropriate for the following scenarios:Organizations that have very limited IT resources and lack the skills and knowledge required to set up and manage SafeDNS Organizations that have specific needs and requirements that are not met by the features and capabilities of SafeDNS, for example organizations that require advanced threat detection and response capabilities.Organizations that may have limited budget, SafeDNS does require a subscription cost, that might not be feasible for smaller businesses with limited resources.Organizations that are using legacy systems that are not compatible with SafeDNS, that may not be able to integrate it to their infrastructure.
  • safety
  • user-control
  • traffic control
  • increased productivity
  • increased safety
  • increased throughput and more granual control on the traffic
One key difference between the two products is that SafeDNS is a cloud-based service, while WebTitan offers both cloud-based and on-premises options. This means that SafeDNS is typically easier to set up and manage, and can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection, while WebTitan's on-premises option gives organizations more control over the deployment, configuration, and management of the service.Another difference is that WebTitan also provides features such as advanced threat detection, which can detect and block zero-day threats, and a feature that monitors and report on the user's activity, while SafeDNS primary focus is on internet filtering. In terms of pricing, SafeDNS's pricing model is subscription-based, whereas WebTitan offers a mix of subscription, perpetual and pay-as-you-go license options.

SafeDNS is used primarily in the suite to distribute on our tablets, monitors and computers used for sales, sales and may be used by prospects or current customers. SafeDNS is used to block access to a large part of the web while we want to limit access to only the digital property of our network, and also block access to any offensive material.
  • block group of website
  • report blocked website tentative
  • creation of group of profile, like vendor, client, etc.
Cons
  • providing insight or suggestion on type of website that could be blocked
  • providing more alerts and dashboard when you have huge teams to manage
Without reinventing the wheel, SafeDNS is effective in preventing employees and customers from using our information material in an inappropriate way and this, by user group, because of course, we do not have the same needs from one department to another. I recommend it to any serious company that wants to limit access to certain types of websites that may be inappropriate or offensive. The application is not limited to that, but in our case, that's what we were interested in.
  • multiple profiles
  • easy to install and integrate
  • prevent offensive content on our materials
  • prevent innapropriate use of our materials by the staff

We use it for filtering on our public computers and public wi-fi network. We do not use it on our staff computers as they are unfiltered. We have been very happy with the product. The ease of installation was a big factor in deciding to purchase it. The price is also very reasonable.
  • Filters porn
  • Is transparent and works quickly
  • Easy to set up the filters
Cons
  • I can't think of a thing that we would need improved.
I have recommended it to other libraries in my state through a user group for techies.
  • With an affordable cost it has a positive impact on our ROI.
No comparison. I never could get the Cisco product to function as it should in the trial and their support was poor.
