What is SAP CPQ?

SAP CPQ (replacing the former CallidusCloud CPQ solution) has been built to be independent of any CRM. The vendor says that this makes their solution more flexible. The vendor also says their solution provides businesses the flexibility to customize and enhance the solution without the constraints of CRM code. Pricing and product catalog changes can also be made by the users without having to rely on a CRM administrator.

CPQ is good

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

we have complexity logic in SAP ERP to calculate the price so when we send the request from eCom then not getting response on time (Session is expiring due to long time) so we implement the logic in CPQ.

Pros

  • Pricing
  • Config

Cons

  • We are using DPA to extract the data from ERP so better to have a direct connection from CPQ to ERP.

Return on Investment

  • It's another product. If it is part of ERP then great so that we don't have to go to multiple tools.
  • Separate licence and bit expensive.
