What is Serenade.ai?
Serenade.ai is an AI code generation tool that offers code with voice functionality, enabling users to write code using natural speech. Serenade's speech-to-code engine is designed for developers from the ground up and fully open-source.
Serenade can run in the cloud or completely locally, so users can either reduce load on system resources or keep voice commands and source code privately stored on-device.
It is designed to integrate with any solution. Serenade integrates with existing tools—from writing code with VS Code to messaging with Slack—to sidestep having to create an entirely new workflow. And, Serenade also is designed to provides the right speech engine to match what is being editing, whether that's code or prose. Ultimately it enables users to break up the coding workflow by using natural voice commands without worrying about syntax, formatting, and symbols.
Serenade can be freely downloaded for Windows, Linux, or Mac. It may then be configured to use cloud-based speech recognition or local speech recognition (the option appears in Settings > Server). For Windows, the local server requires WSL with Ubuntu. Regardless of the setting, the developer can also opt into sharing data with Serenade in order to help improve Serenade's speech-to-code machine learning models.
