Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Skrill allows us to accept online payments from countries where PayPal or other payment processors are not available for our business. So it solves a big problem for us. We have been using Skrill for years now and really never had any issues and because of that reason never had to look for any other processor.

Pros

  • Allows us to accept online payments
  • Allows us to send funds online

Cons

  • Platform feels outdated
  • More details on a transaction page

Likelihood to Recommend

It's perfectly suited if you need to accept online payments for your business in countries where PayPal or other online payment processors are not available. Once it is set up you don't have to look for any other processor because Skrill simply works. Less appropriate - maybe their brand is not well known so it might cause customers to doubt the legitimacy of the company but I haven't had that experience myself.

I like Skrill

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Skrill for my personal needs but also to do business with other organisations like in crypto currency trading and travelling. It is a very good product with an easy to use mobile app and I have never had any issues while travelling abroad , withdrawing cash in other currencies and using the card there

Pros

  • Options to trade
  • Very good mobile app
  • Quick and efficient KYC when setting up the account
  • Efficient and quick onboarding

Cons

  • Multiple currency account like Revolut
  • Digital Account numbers per currency
  • Travel benefits

Likelihood to Recommend

Travelling, betting and trading cryptocurrencies are examples that Skrill does rally well, also making transfers from Skrill to Skrill users. Less appropriate when using is for more traditional banking activities like transfer from a bank account to Skrill or if you want to travel to countries that have not so popular currencies

Cheap, fast, simple and international solution that might not be so advanced or flexible, but serves in most cases

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Skrill to pay our service providers in non-U.S. based countries, allowing them to receive the funds using Skrill Money Transfer and other transfer solutions, store them in a Skrill "digital wallet" etc.

Pros

  • Skrill allows paying with fairly low fees
  • Skrill supports quite a few locations and currencies
  • Skrill allows usage by people using different languages, which makes it easier to sync with non-English speakers
  • Skrill has an average but not terrible business account management system

Cons

  • Skrill's UI can be bloated and slow sometimes, and overcomplicated
  • There are some issues with localization and language, some concepts didn't see to be translated properly
  • What an e-wallet is, is not super clear to potential users

Likelihood to Recommend

Compared to alternatives, it is fairly cheap, fast and fair - so I'd give it a proper recommendation.

Good efficient way of sending money abroad with a competitive exchange rate

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have used Skrill for sending money abroad and have found it to be very efficient for money transactions overseas. It is safe, secured, effective, and offers a very competitive exchange rate. The time it takes for processing and deposits the money is not too bad either. I have mostly used bank-to-bank transfers and have used debit cards to fund the transaction a few times.

Pros

  • Safe and secured transactions
  • Zero transaction fee with the bank to bank transfer or funds fueled by debit card transfer even for smaller amounts.
  • Competitive exchange rate

Cons

  • The exchange rate could be more competitive typically for bigger transactions.
  • The processing time is really good but it can improve. Granted that it depends on the bank sending the money and the bank accepting the money, I know at least one portal that sends money faster.
  • There is a limit of $3000 per transaction if you are using ACH instant bank deposit. Sometimes I have to make more than one transaction if the transaction amount is more than that since I prefer bank to bank transfer. The daily limit of $10,000 for bank to bank transfers is not a problem though.

Likelihood to Recommend

Skrill is my preferred way of doing money transactions abroad typically when I need a safe secured and efficient way of sending money overseas and the amount is low. Most other portals tend to charge a transfer fee for lower amounts but Skrill does not charge a transaction fee when I use the ACH Transfer even for lower amounts. For personal use, I have used the debit card to fuel transactions and it allows you the same facility as the debit card. If I need to complete the transaction within a day and want the money to be available in the receiving account overseas the same day, I prefer another portal that has the option of express service that Skrill does not offer.

Use Skrill as a good skill

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Skrill includes advantages such as a simple money transfer mechanism.

Pros

  • It is a global payment processor because it is accessible from everywhere.
  • Manageable exchange rates make financial sense.
  • Skrill does allow you to make purchases on European websites and send money outside of the United States.
  • You should use Skrill for international money transfers

Cons

  • There are times when the platform is down without any notification and I find myself unable to make transactions.
  • Transfer fees are high
  • It is very hard to contact with customer service, they need to pay greater attention to user issues.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you're looking for a paypal alternative and have used the neteller payment processor before, you'll enjoy this tool, it's simple to use and a payment processor that you should add to your portfolio. It offers a distinctive UI that is straightforward and easy to use.

Secure and easy payment solution

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As it offers a payment gateway service, Skrill supports over 40 currencies, making it a gentle stepping stone for small companies throughout the world looking to go online and conduct online transactions. Skrill also allows anybody from anywhere in the globe to establish an account and do business. With two authentication methods and FDA regulation, SKrill has also solved the problem of security, assuring company owners that they may access their cash at any time and from any location.

Pros

  • It is a global payment processor that accepts payments from all around the world.
  • Because of the high security requirements for signing in, no one can readily access the account.
  • Real-Time Payments - Payment Gateway

Cons

  • Fees are quite high compared to other platform
  • With mobile app you have access to limited amount of withdrawal.
  • Withdrawal fees is also there which is quite high

Likelihood to Recommend

What I like best about Skrill is that it allows me to conduct international transactions without having to go through cumbersome deposit and withdrawal processes. I can transfer money to anyone in the globe who has a Skrill account, and they may withdraw it to their bank account with ease. I can also instantly add and take funds from my Skrill account. When it comes to internet transactions, SKrill has been a huge assistance. Removing the most inconvenient process of forming banks online, transferring money that takes days to authenticate, and landing into the recipient's account with extra paperwork required to withdraw money from a bank account.

Just another Online Wallet to "keep your eggs in different baskets"

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I registered a Skrill account after one of my customers had issues with sending me a payment via one popular money transfer problem. I was surprised by how Skrill is simple and what level of security it offers. I verified my account to use all features, connected some of my credit cards and now when I want to receive a payment or if I want to send a payment to someone, the first question I ask is "Do you have Skrill?"

Pros

  • Receiving payments from abroad
  • Sending payments online
  • Secure online wallet

Cons

  • Verification is too long
  • Currency rates are not the best
  • Some countries are not eligible for Skrill card.

Likelihood to Recommend

Skrill is a very good option if you receive payments from abroad and want it quickly. Skrill is also good if you are good with cryptocurrencies. I usually suggest friends have accounts on at least 3 or 4 payment systems and Skrill is always on the list. Still, I also suggest using Skrill when other most popular options like wire transfer do not work.

Faster and secured payment solution for startups and small to medium scale businesses.

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In our company, we use Skrill to deal with payment related problems. Skrill allows us to send and receive payments from all over the world, as well as buy products and services from other businesses in a safe and convenient manner. Because Skrill isn't available in some of the countries where we conduct business, we also use PayPal and Payoneer. Overall, Skrill is a convenient way to send and receive money while also expanding your business overseas. Skrill is also a convenient method for our customers to pay for our products and services.

Pros

  • Send and Receive Payments Internationally
  • Highly Secured
  • Purchase Products and Services Worldwide
  • Supports a Wide Range of Currencies

Cons

  • Poor Exchange Rates
  • Poor Mobile App UX
  • Complex Verification Process

Likelihood to Recommend

Skrill is ideal for small to medium-sized businesses and startups who want to send and receive payments while also developing their business abroad. Although the transfers are made almost instantly or within an hour or two, the exchange rate is terrible when compared to other similar service providers such as PayPal and Payoneer.

Role of Skrill In Business

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Skrill for various kinds of payment. I have a retail smartphone accessories shop. That's why I need to buy products from abroad. Basically, when I bought a product from a foreign company, I used Skrill as payment system. But there are many countries that don’t have the Skrill payment system. The transaction fee is comparatively low in Skrill.

Pros

  • Comparatively low fees
  • Support lots of currencies
  • Provide high security
  • User friendly interface

Cons

  • Skrill needs full verification for big transactions. I think they should increase the limit.
  • Users need to have a European residential address verified in order to get the MasterCard. This facility should be open worldwide.
  • The currency exchange rates aren’t good in Skrill.

Likelihood to Recommend

From my using experience, I think Skrill is best for online shopping. User can buy their necessary products from the international marketplace by using the Skrill payment gateway. But Skrill has a limit on a big transactions. That is annoying for me. The currency conversion rate also fluctuates more compared to the international currency rate.

Skrill, the vanguard that still works.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have been using Skrill for seven years and I am still a customer today. It is a platform that offers a simple aesthetic and although we could say that it is at the forefront of certain things, it continuously offers improvements, slight, but improvements at last in the use of tools to improve the user experience. Business-wise it has made it easier for us to pay freelancers around the world, it has practicality in this case that is fantastic and that keeps it over time, which is the immediacy. As against is the high price that increases and increases in commissions at the time of making such payments or withdrawals.

Pros

  • The immediacy of payments between accounts.
  • Clear interface and menus.
  • Breadth of services and continuous improvements.

Cons

  • It has very high commissions, even on small transaction amounts.
  • The number of currencies available varies by country of shipment.
  • Offer more transfer methods than just bank or digital wallets.

Likelihood to Recommend

Skrill ends up, in my experience, being an effective tool and one of the most versatile and accessible international transfer service options. It is not recommended for withdrawals to banks and wallets outside the platform, the fees are calculated through an exchange rate margin that is not transparent. The immediacy makes it a useful tool for work, but at the same time, there are often cases where transfers are delayed and the support service is non-existent.
