Trend Micro Email Security is an email security gateway (SEG) solution great at detecting different types of email security threats like phishing, BEC, APT, spams etc. The security solution provides a very simple user interface which makes it easy to customize the policies and settings based on your specific requirements.

Pros

The user interface is simple to understand and navigate, making it easy to customize policies and settings
Customizable dashboards to monitor different types of threats other email traffic
Available in-built virtual sandbox for both file and URL malware analysis

Cons

Some of the search filters have a limited custom search range, which can be frustrating when trying to search for a specific incident within a wider time frame

we sell the solution to our customers. The mail is routed to trendmicro servers where it is checked and then returned to our mailserver.

You can create rules for checking mail, spam, attachment size, you can specify blacklist or whitelist, search the logs to understand which rules have been applied to each single incoming mail.

Pros

spam and threat detection
whitelist/blacklist
search in logs to find problem or errors

Cons

sometimes there are false positive and you have to check logs and rules and create exceptions

Likelihood to Recommend

PRO: all companies that need an antispam, antivirus. It should not be activated if it is not possible to deactivate the anti-spam provided by the provider.

you have to check the in/out of the mail a few days to verify false positives and manage the rules.

CONS: It is too expensive for small companies, it's better to use services offered by the mail provider.

Spam or junk mail was the biggest issue at too many organizations, so the best solution is Trend Micro Email Security it's a perfect Cloud based App Security system. It's good to encrypt email and very easy to sync with Microsoft Office 365 also, good for scanning the email to protect our system from viruses. :)

Pros

Trend Micro Email Security provides, among email Encryption and it's really helpful to protect the email from hackers.
It's very easy to sync with Microsoft™ Office™ 365, just one click to install.
Total cloud based security system so it's doesn't affect system memory, with very less memory space it could run very smoothly.

Cons

I don't think Trend Micro Email Security missed Something, it's a full Package of mail security.

Trend Micro Email Security is really a good tool to protect email from cyber attacks and provide end-to-end email data security. The encryption function is amazing. The anti-malware function is really helpful it's performed real-time email scanning.

Most of the viruses we see now days come as an attachment in an email.

Trend Micro Email Security helped the company by allowing users to understand the

proper methods of destroying spam and virus messages.

I have seen some instances of cryptolocker and advised to get some email security.

This product allows maximum configuration for your domain to security as best as possible.

Alerts you of suspicious activity within your console.

Trend Micro Email Security is well suited for business with over 100 users that have hard time with

spoofing, spam and malware within email functionality.

It would not be well suited in a smaller environment that has more of a handle of these type of issues.

It could be more of a hassle and too much for smaller environments.

I use it at my company to ensure any malicious emails attempts, spam, phishing gets detected. It is good protection but can be a little difficult to use. Stopped every malicious file we attempted to download and blocked every phishing scheme and malicious website we tried to access. Highly recommend TrendMicro.

Cons

Take less memory resources, so the computer does not slow down.
More frequent product updates.
Make it easier to set up.

It is great when opening websites as there is web recognition technology. This software blocks the entire suspicious website where if a threat originated, displaying warning messages and adding additional information about each threat, and why the website was blocked in the detailed activity reports.

Trend Micro Email Security is actively used for every mailbox in our entire organization, by everyone without exception. We have been using it for 5-6 years as the most important link of our mail security chain. The greater the importance of security today, the more important is mail protection in case of targeted, untargeted attacks from outside.

Pros

Mail analytics SPF, DKIM and DMARC
Known threats (spam, malware, malicious URLs and graymail)
Unknown threats (malware, url) detection
Keyword Filter, Domain Filter.

Cons

It would be great if there was a structure where users would approve or rate their own mails.
Outlook add-in would be nice.

It does not matter whether the service you receive mail from is local exchange, cloud Microsoft Office 365 or any other email service provider.In your domain management, you forward your MX records to the Inbound Servers area in the Domain interface of Trend Micro Email Security itself. And all your incoming emails go through Trend Micro Email Security first.In the same way, you open the outbound servers side and the protection starts.

Our organization uses Trend Micro Email Security as our gateway security service for spam protection, email filtering, email encryption, and data loss prevention. We also implement and manage Trend Micro Email Security as our sole email security platform for our customers. Trend Micro's email security enables us to protect both ourselves and our customers from both external email threats and internal data loss.

Pros

Policy creation and customization are quick and easy for both inbound and outbound emails.
Logs are easy to search.
End user email quarantine digests are convenient.

Cons

Needs better explanation of policy aggressiveness thresholds (e.g., what does "Highest" mean?).
