The dedication and responsiveness of Vero's customer service have been highly appreciated by users.
Powerful Automation Capabilities: Many users have commended Vero for its ability to automate campaigns with customized data endpoints in different languages, improving their personalization efforts. This feature has been described as a game-changer for ad-hoc and drip campaigns, with users particularly appreciating the ability to enrich and personalize campaigns using data from external sources like Google Sheets API.
Vero is currently our all-in-one solution for newsletters and transactional emails. It's used both by the product team for its transactional emails and by a few other departments that have more marketing-related emails. Whereas many solutions out in the market handle one or the other, Vero has allowed us to consolidate everything under one solution. While we've recently started to diversify a bit with other products that have direct connections with Salesforce, Vero nonetheless continues to be used heavily.
Pros
Vero distinguishes between different types of emails so that you can work on the specific types that your business needs. It also allows you to switch campaigns from one to the other, making management easy.
Vero allows you to create a sandbox environment that is essential when creating new campaigns. The sandbox emails go to test emails but allow you to test with real users. When you're done testing, simply clone the campaign into the production instance.
Easy to use logging allows you to properly debug events being fired from your website and the subsequent campaigns and emails triggered.
Their customer service is fantastic. Very responsive, thoughtful, and willing to help.
Cons
While Vero offers some WYSIWYG editing, it's on the limited side, as it mostly allows you to edit copy, but not necessarily the layout.
The UI/UX has improved dramatically over the course of the last few years, but it can still lag from time to time and experience sluggishness.
While reliability is really good, it does have lapses from time to time that will introduce delays into emails being sent out. Once or twice, the system went completely down for a period of time.
Likelihood to Recommend
Vero tends to play nice with companies that have their websites as the primary source of truth. This allows them to send as many events as they need and develop more complex workflows that introduce conditionality into Vero emails. However, for those that rely more on Salesforce, it might have more limited applications. The product is fairly easy to use, so it's easy for multiple people on the team to pick it up and do what they need for their respective groups. On the other hand, creating email templates will require some knowledge of HTML/CSS, unless those are copied from another source. That would require another product of course that provides more robust layout editing features and templates.
I used Vero to create trigger-based and behavior-based marketing automation campaigns for an online lead-generation website. This is a small start up business so Vero is used organization-wide and was the sole marketing automation software used for this business. Vero campaigns allowed us to better educate our visitors on the services offered and benefits of the platform.
Pros
Email template editor allowed our developers to design emails to looks like beautiful marketing emails or basic personal emails.
The Vero API allowed our developers to connect triggers and events from our visitors to kick start campaigns.
Campaign flows were fairly easy to create and define.
Cons
Naming conventions. Some items, once given a name, could not have the name changed.
User-friendliness of interface for non-developers. Vero is certainly built with the developer in mind and a marketer/user cannot do much before a developer configures everything.
Absolutely terrible if you are hoping to use Vero as a CRM. To its credit, it does not claim to be a CRM.
Likelihood to Recommend
Vero is well suited for basic email marketing if you have a great developer or development team on your staff. You can expect basic tracking like opens and clicks, but do not expect additional tracking or reports outside of this. Vero truly is a basic marketing automation software hence its price reasonableness in comparison to competitors.
