  • Sometimes the advice is general, but not for us.

Pros

  • VMware Skyline showed me my end of life cisco drivers.
  • Skyline listed unsupported VMtools and listed the VMs using such versions.
  • Skyline listed out-of-date hardware compatibility versions and the VMs matching such versions.

Cons

  • Skyline users are assigned by the administrators. It would be nice if users could request accounts so approval is all that is needed.

  • Skyline scans for security related issues.
  • Skyline points out out of date hardware drivers.

  • VMware Skyline has no cost except for the small footprint the appliance VM uses.

It also automatically and securely collects, aggregates and analyzes customer specific product usage data to identify potential issues and improve time-to-resolution. Which would ultimately result in to quick response for customer requests.
