Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Marketo Engage

My company is a small business with around 50 employees and we use Marketo as our marketing automation software. Since we are so small and our marketing team is just 2 people we contract a Marketo firm to help us leverage all of its capabilities, but even then we barely scratch the surface of its utilization. Our plan is to leverage it for ABM marketing and lead management but from my experience, it's so in-depth and not user-friendly we have to rely on this outside agency to assist us, with minimal success. In my opinion, for a business of our size Marketo is too robust and requires a specialist to use successfully. I feel smaller businesses would have an easier time creating successful marketing efforts with other automation platforms geared toward smaller companies.

Product launches - to increase awareness of new offerings to drive sales. Upsell - to increase transaction value. Cross-Sell - to increase conversions and transitions. Lead Management - to accurately track lead behavior to determine buying habits and patterns. Prospecting/New Business - to contact potential new business opportunities and track their engagement with our brand and content.

Marketo is definitely more well suited for larger enterprise organizations that have a marketing staff with HTML proficiency or a Marketo-specific certification. It's definitely not appropriate for small businesses that have one or two marketing generalists on staff. In my opinion, this piece of software requires extensive knowledge and expertise to operate successfully and have solid marketing efforts.
