Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan
We use Anaplan primarily as a forecasting and the panning tool for financial statements.
- Anaplan allows you to build out your model easily by applying a dimension. If you would like to view your model with more regions or cost centers, the software allows you to quickly do so.
- Uploading data into Anaplan is quick and effective using the Import feature. Similarly, it is just as easy to pull data out of the system using Export to conduct further analysis.
- Dashboards allow you to review multiply inputs and outputs in the model all at once to simplify ease of updating key inputs and reviewing the corresponding outputs.
- Because of the reliance on dikensionality, you may be challenged to implement formulas as easily as you do in Excel. You will need to learn and understand these limitations to calculate the results as you expect outside of the system.
- While dashboards are effective tools to deliver the main point of the model, the aesthetics provided are limited to basic charts relative to advanced aesthetics provided by tools such as Tableau.
- When you apply or remove dimensions such as cost centers or regions to your model, you may lose the data you originally had because Anaplan is attempting to interpret how the data related to the dimensions.
I did not purchase Anaplan but have used Adaptive Insights in the past. In comparison, Anaplan is more powerful because of the formulas available.
