Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Apify as part of process automation in my marketing agency - scraping, enrichment, social media research, etc. It's great for experimenting with new ideas as well. Overall, a fantastic platform, good range of easy to use actors, great support - not that I am having issues frequently or anything.

Usability

10/10 to Apify, the only negative is you can come across some faulty actors. Not Apify's fault, although, maybe, some harsher moderation in the name of clearing the paltform out of the bad apples / forcing lazy devs to improve quality would be welcome.

Honestly, even though the platform is designed to API-fy things, hence the name, using the actors in a more manual way is perfectly convenient and is useful, so even using it for small projects wouldn't be overkill. That being said, they do have a minimum balance purchase, so if you literally need, like, 1 page, then maybe do it manually;
