Overall Satisfaction with Astera Centerprise
We use it to transform data from legacy systems to newer systems. It addresses the problem of moving data across the enterprise. It also provides centralized management of the jobs created for the transportation of this data. We use the graphical interface to include the business in the design of solutions.
- Makes designing ETL jobs quick
- Able to include business users in the design
- Centralized job management
- Job management interface could use some work
- Some procedural functionality would help in certain situations
- It would be nice for the complied package to detect the environment in which it's running; Prod, Test, Development, and use those parameters accordingly.
- I and my team can get more done faster. For us it's a good fit. I have no hard numbers but I would estimate that it's 50% faster than using SSIS.
Centerprise is easier for everything except the most demanding jobs. Centerprise is not for full blown enterprise data warehouses.
