Overall Satisfaction with Avanan
Avanan is currently being used across our entire organization. The spam/phishing filtering alone has had a tremendous impact. Our users no longer spend a significant portion of their day sifting through email noise to get to essential communications. With the number of users in our organization, we're talking about thousands of messages per day.

There have been several times that I've had to contact Avanan support and they've always been very responsive. They acknowledge my situation within a few hours and typically have a fix for my issue within a few days.

As previously stated, the user interface could use some work. Overall, I find it satisfactory, but there is definitely room for improvement. The learning curve is a bit steep, but over time it becomes less of an issue.
As previously stated, we use Avanan primarily for anti-spam/phishing filtering. We couldn't happier with its performance in this respect. The anti-malware module is more difficult to rate as we also use Microsoft's O365 anti-malware, but we haven't had a situation where malware has made it through to our users.
