Overall Satisfaction with Barracuda Load Balancer

We got these load balancers to balance our Exchange 2010 and BSF and a few other services. They worked well for a period of time, but the service over time degraded. We upgraded to F5 which has been working really well.

  • Detailed look into inspections of packet flow
  • Separation of node and services for reuse
  • Low cost and lasted 5 years
  • Balanced email and email services fairly well
The Barracuda Load Balancer is a basic load balancer while the F5 is an application delivery system with full networking capabilities.
It did well for basic needs but would not deliver for all our services.

Barracuda Load Balancer is well suited for small environments with little need for load balancing. It is good for a focused purpose.
