Overall Satisfaction with Bitbucket
Bitbucket is used by all of our developers across our organization. As our official source code management system, Bitbucket saves time and money on programming projects. It makes it easier for our employees to collaborate, while also providing a reliable backup of all previous versions of our source code if we need to revert any changes quickly.
Pros
- Collaboration - Bitbucket makes it easy for large teams to work together on programming projects.
- Code Search - Source code is indexed and searchable.
Cons
- Issue Tracking - Bitbucket doesn't seem to be built with issue tracking in mind.
- Third-Party Support - There are still a lot of other vendors that don't integrate with Bitbucket, even if they offer integrations for GitHub or other similar tools.
- Bitbucket has improved the ability of our development teams to collaborate on projects.
- Our code is now backed up securely in the cloud, with both current and previous versions, which provides an additional layer of safety for code that is critical to our business.
Bitbucket integrates with Confluence and Jira more easily than GitHub, which was a plus for us, given that we already used those tools extensively. Additionally, the pricing structure for Bitbucket makes it more affordable for our organization, which is especially important, given that we are a nonprofit with a somewhat limited budget.
