Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT

We started off using Raisers Edge then several years in, added FE NXT. It is amazing! We love the integration with the two systems. A lot can be customized and easily learned by those not in accounting. If you use one system, get both to save time in integrating with any other systems.

  • Monthly Financials are easy!
  • I would love to see more charts/graphs that are standard
  • We have had trouble with posting in RE and it not showing up in FE
  • Cost is very high
  • It is nice to have everything housed in one system
  • We are able to avoid all the excel sheets for budget and other financial tracking
  • Easy way to pull exactly where we are at any point
We use the information from NXT for our audit and 990. We have to pull a lot of data and having the system makes it very easy to grab whatever information we need.

We have had no problems with security, and it seems very secure.
I work closely with all the restricted funds/projects and it is extremely helpful to be able to pull a report at any time. We have a report set up so all we have to do is run the report and all the numbers come up. Management is very pleased with this easy report.
We used to use Excel-a LOT of excel. Many, many, many different sheets. Financial Edge allows us to get rid of all those spreadsheets and use one system. So this isn't even really a comparison-it's like a tiny stone in a giant ocean. We could never do what we do with the excel system so the organization has really stepped up.

If you are a tiny not for profit, this is not the right system as it is an investment. However this would be great for most organizations. As I work for a not for profit, I can only vouch for this on our end, but I assume it would also work for any company!
