Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT

In my current role, we use Financial Edge to govern the local 46 counties of South Carolina to maintain their annual budgets. A separate vendor number identifies the 46 counties; they can only see the information for their designated county. The system helps me produce multiple financial reports and fiscal compliance of the various grants.

Pros

  • Reporting.
  • Budgeting.

Cons

  • Slowness on some reports.
  • Manipulation of some of the filters on the modules.
  • Accountability on each Local Partnership.
  • Expense Management of various grants.
  • Updated vendor records.
We are currently learning Raisers Edge.
The Local Partnerships understands the necessity of entering proper accounting and invoices. Their input creates the reports needed for various action items.

Compared to our previous systems, the software is real-time and is updated only at midnight. It is also web-based. You can troubleshoot from anywhere at any time. The system's functionality aids our counties in producing real-time reports and budgets for their board members. The Blackbaud University training is also an excellent tool for new employees/users.
