Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT

We use it for our accounting and AR billing and AP processes. Pretty user friendly and vast span of things it can do to accomplish these.

Pros

  • user friendly
  • easily searchable help
  • community knowledge base is helpful

Cons

  • The phasing out of the database version was slow and clunky
  • the "generating" of reports is now slow and tedious
  • seem to have to click through a lot of screens to get to see accounting distributions
  • for the cost, the software functions well, compared with similar softwares
  • the AP and AR integration works well for us
  • reporting is fairly comprehensive
Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT has given us the ability to create good reports when it comes to assessing donor activity and see YOY financials to keep our team apprised of our accomplishments.
The dashboards have made it convenient to easily get an overall picture, especially when trying to isolate certain items, like expenses versus donations.
Similar products, but the Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT reporting functions are definitely more user friendly and gave us more of what we needed, and quickly.

Prior to the phase out of the database function, the AR function was very user friendly and now I wouldn't say that is true. While creating reports is easy and can really generate detailed reports easily, the ability to just view is gone, and now I'm constantly having to download a report, even when I might have to go back and edit it, to then download it again.
