Carbonite Endpoint 360: comprehensively extending retention and backup of Office 365
Overall Satisfaction with Carbonite Endpoint 360
Carbonite Endpoint 360 is a great solution to extend the built-in 30 day backup of Office 365 and the system as a whole. It works well with Exchange Online as well as SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. It works as a solution for granular restoration as well as entire system restoration. The backup system is automatic and very easy to manage.
Pros
- Very easy to setup and manage, does not take a tech expert.
- Automated backups that do not take much management.
- Easy restoration, several clicks to setup files to restore.
Cons
- Restoration process is very slow overall.
- User interface is a bit clunky, not counter-intuitive but could be streamlined a bit better.
- Many products in this field to compare features and prices.
- Easy comprehensive backup solution for Office 365 that does not require an IT consultant to setup and maintain.
- Require annual subscription/license instead of flexible purchasing.
- Numerous competitors priced closely that could have better feature set.
Carbonite Endpoint 360 definitely has a solid footing in the market. Barracuda Essentials is a more comprehensive solution offering many additional features and complementing services including archiving and email Antispam and encryption. Proofpoint is very similar to both products and has many features as well. Overall, the market is very competitive on the backup and retention of Office 365.
