Overall Satisfaction with Carbonite Endpoint

We use carbonite endpoint to backup end users PCs to the cloud anytime a file changes. We only backup their desktop documents and pictures folders in our organization.

Pros

  • Backups changes to files immediately
  • The software is easy to install and setup
  • There is no maintenance to a storage location since its cloud based

Cons

  • I dont like that you need a different product to backup a folder location on a server
  • If you use a vendor to renew the product they are to slow at getting quotes for renewal
  • The online portal runs slow when looking up a PC to restore files
  • We have had files saved from PC crashing
  • We have had files saved from ransomware attack
  • No supporting servers has cost us additions money
Carbonite is way more basic but is easy to use. It is for backing up files where at Veeam is for a who system backup which you can restore to a different platform. If our use case we only needed to backup end users files and Carbonite cost much less which was what we needed in our situation.

Carbonite is great to backup locations on end users PCs. It is a great tool to keep end users files safe from and end users PC crashing. It does not work great as a who PC back and restore to a new PC including programs. There is no support for servers with this product you have to buy a different product they offer.
