Overall Satisfaction with CCH® SureTax®
We use CCH® SureTax® as an add-on in Microsoft Dynamics to calculate sales tax on our invoices, sales orders, and quotes across multiple related companies. CCH® SureTax® communicates with another product that manages sales tax exemption certificates and doesn't charge sales tax when an exemption certificate is on file for the ship-to state. We added this product on to remove our Customer Service Team from haphazardly allowing a customer to claim exemption without providing proper documentation that was analyzed by the Tax Department.
- Stays updated on current sales tax rates.
- In our experience, CCH® SureTax® goes down frequently; recently as often as multiple times per month since November 2023 to January 2024.
- In my opinion, receiving support from CCH® SureTax® is near impossible because they say the system either wasn't down in the first place or they request information using language that we don't understand even though we provide the support team with as much information as we can.
- In our experience, sales that are shipped to California, specifically throughout the Bay Area, calculate with the incorrect tax rate. For example, our reports will tell us that a sale that originally shipped to Foster City, CA shipped to San Diego, CA.
- In my opinion, the reporting process is very tedious. We spend more time than necessary reviewing the reports because the system frequently goes down.
- In our experience, California reporting takes days. Hundreds of individual invoices must be reviewed as the report cannot be trusted to provide the correct shipping location.
