Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The ASR 1000 is used in various places in my customers networks. We are using it as CE routers or in hub locations for NNI. We usually choose this platform in more important or large locations.

Pros and Cons

ASR 1000 is stable platform.
ASR 1000 is powerful box.
Multiservice platform.

Nothing specific to platform, but as other platforms there are bugs or vulnerabilities that have to be fixed periodically.

As a cloud hosted services, we are using Cisco CSR1000V instead, which provides quite versatile solution in the virtualized environment.
