Overall Satisfaction with Cisco 3504 WLAN Controller

Cisco controllers have been around our company longer than I have. From my experience, it is great at managing our wireless networks. The biggest worry is security and those settings can be a hassle, but I think Cisco does a great job at the management options surrounding that. Managing our users has been easy as well.
  • Responsiveness
  • Mobility
  • Centralized management
  • Keeps getting more expensive.
  • Firewalls for guests.
  • Unified code.
  • 150 access points
  • AP Amounts
  • Availability
  • Faster upgrades
  • Less wireless management
  • Good support system
Like I said previously, switching wireless controllers was really simple and the process was very smooth. We believed that the 3504 could do everything and maybe a little more than what the 9800 was giving us when it started getting old. Both were great at managing the networks and the response times was similar.

Do you think Cisco 3504 WLAN Controller delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco 3504 WLAN Controller's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco 3504 WLAN Controller live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco 3504 WLAN Controller go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco 3504 WLAN Controller again?

Yes

Switching controllers is the biggest upside as these don't last forever. It's great that you can manage multiple sites from one controller and you don't have to configure each location one at a time. If you absolutely must have firewalls on guests, it may not be the best, but this is a really unlikely scenario.
