Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI)

we are using Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI) as LAN datacenter fabric within our company and we have 3 pods. we are managing all network applications in prem

Pros

  • stretched network within 2 physical pods
  • apply network security with ESG Endpoints security group
  • have a strong security with tenant based separation

Cons

  • searching for feature not easy in APIC
  • identifying relationship between resources
  • simplicity to manage network datacenter
  • scalability with ESG technology
  • security with tenant
  • visibility and central management with APIC
because well developed and competitive in technology and price
scalability on resources, adding leafs is very easy to integrate to the fabric with simple clic and will be quick up
we are using some automation with Ansible to do some tascks on Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI); create vPC or PO, create EPG and BD, doing upgrade of the fabric

Do you think Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI) delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI)'s feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI) live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI) go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI) again?

Yes

applying ESG to secure networking and reduce network resources
adding new network resources such as adding VLAN Id to Vlan Pool, creating, EPG, creating BD, tagging Vlan ID to the IPG...
the scenario that we need to understand is how to connect a remote leaf to the Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI) it is a big challenge, because we don't know what are the prerequisites to do that as the target datacenter is so far in an other country, and if we need to have a spine or not because uplink traffic should go to the central data center and come back for inter leafs comunications
