Overall Satisfaction with Cisco ASA
We have been using Cisco ASA at a part of our company for many years to great satisfaction. This part is mainly a Cisco-only network and through the years have been using Cisco equipment in all kinds of manners (like switches, wireless, etc). We are of the opinion that having multiple vendors throughout the group is a good thing.
Pros
- We find it very stable.
- Because it is very well known and it is Cisco, the user community support is excellent.
Cons
- It is not cheap.
- It protects your data very well. A data breach can be very impactful, so protection is paramount.
- Though it is pricey, we think is offers good value for the money.
We also have Juniper and Palo Alto within our group of companies. But we do like to have some diversity, [partly] because of the "one vendor = single point of failure", partly because of historical reasons. All products are good for their use.
