Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches

They are usually aggregation/distribution switches and sometimes, in small or medium company, core switches.
They are core switches when a network need an access and distribution switch in the same device
  • Modularity of the uplink ports
  • Scalability in stacking
  • Multigiga ports
  • You can do stacking just by proprietary and limited-length cables
  • You don't have 48Y port version
  • 3rd party integration is not so easy
  • High availability and realiability. No service interruption so service is guaranteed to the customers
  • You don't have recurrent costs if you don't use DNA center
  • Acceptable initial investment
My organization has taken advantage in particular of Phyton script for configuration of the devices
By Cisco Umbrella agent hosted directly onboard it's been possible to customize the DNS policies
Cisco 9300 has more functionalities and customization options: integration with ISE, Phyton script for automation, WLC on board, Umbrella, ...
