Swing and a hit with these switches!
Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches
- Catalyst 9400 Series
- Catalyst 9500 Series
Our Cisco Catalyst Series switches are getting users connected to our network quickly to allow access to company resources. They are highly scalable and allow us to expand effortlessly as we open new areas and expand. A number of these switches have been used to replace older infrastructure as well, due to slower speeds and network congestion.
Pros
- Scalability
- Support
- Documentation
- Ease of use
Cons
- Stacking is difficult/cumbersome
- Licensing
- Updates
- Increased speed is always good anyway you slice it.
- Has done wonders for our backup speeds.
- Fewer user issues in regards to connections.
Unfortunately, we have not had a need for these capabilities. Virtualization is something the network ops team has been testing but has not yet implemented. We will surely update this review when we do utilize these features.
The customization feature has saved us time when scaling up, upgrading, or rolling out switches in new areas. Very minimal downtime again and it lets us make specific allowances for more sensitive areas.
We have not evaluated other switches as we have been using other versions prior to making the upgrade and were also very happy with older iterations of the product. We will continue to use them for the foreseeable future.
