Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers

We have implemented a Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers in multiple deployments at our customers. The size ranges from smaller remote offices to large campuses. The Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers are very flexible with the new possibilities to use tags and different profiles depending on the needs. Large deployments with more than 1000 APs are configured in a breeze. The implementation of the Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers into the Cisco Catalyst Control Center brings forth new possibilities with smarter designs and less configurations drifts. Templates and better AI powered automated WiFi RF settings mark the way to go.

The possibility of managing old Infrastructure and new Infrastructure on the same management platform increases visibility and interoperability.
We experienced no network outage or performance decreases due to Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers fault. Performance is flawless.
We experienced no application errors or unplanned outages.
The policy handling on the Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers is very powerful but can get quite complex the more different policy and tags you need to manage. Using individual policies for over a hundred sites can increase the load time of the gui and make it quite hard to find a specific policy right away without utilizing the very good search bar.

Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers are well suited for bigger deployments were an on-premise controller is necessary and a cloud management is not possible. The management possibilities are endless; cli, gui, Cisco Calayst Controller Center or Monitoring over Meraki dashboard, you name it, you got it. The wide range of old and new supported Access Point models makes it a very flexible deployment option.
