Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst IR1100 Rugged Series Routers
When we first upgraded to the previous generation of the Cisco Competitor product, it was using their new Cable Modem/Router device and I was only getting 800 Mbps to download speed. It was also lagging in our office when several people were working and others were downloading, or even accessing intensive web pages. (lagging = pings were too long ). Since upgrading to this amazing beast, upgrading my cabling, and factory resetting my router, We now getting the most download throughput (~3 Gbps) and the lowest pings I've EVER seen! Connection is rock solid throughout the office. The support team is excellent in fixing the entire network very quickly and we were able to boot up quickly enough. One of the downsides is its increased power consumption.
- The Cisco IR1100 series does support muli-vrf (VRF-LITE) exceeding well and also supports a plethora of the latest protocols.
- Impressed by the bandwidth it provides.
- It supports the PoE/PoE+ functionality with a single 150W power supply
