Our network is reliable as a result of using these switches.

Cisco IOS is the most straightforward and easy-to-use interface of any network manufacturer on the market. It provides quick setup and deployment of these switches onto a network. Firmware updates are quick and backups can be taken and deployed quickly if the need arises to deploy a new switch onto the network.
HP ProCurve are a less expensive alternative to Cisco Catalyst Switches. They perform well in networks of various sizes, as well as with VOIP applications and IP cameras. They can be considered a good alternative if one's budget is constrained and the initial cost of Cisco Catalyst Switches and support are too high.

Cisco Catalyst Switches are well suited in more robust networks where bandwidth and uptime is imperative. They are reliable when dealing with VOIP applications and IP cameras. Once they are configured and deployed, there is very little maintenance required. For smaller, cost-constrained budgets, there would be other options that would need to be considered due to the overall cost of Cisco Catalyst Switches and support/maintenance agreements.
