Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches
Cisco Catalyst Switches help to meet our demand with Catalyst management center from configuration, daily management and client troubleshoot with the help from AI Analytics. From the hardware perspective it is quite solid compare with other vendors. The other cool feature to run container on the switch to use any third party software which is also a requirement for a lot of customers, like in our case.
Pros
- Third party application can be installed on switch container
- A lot of choices for each Cisco Catalyst Switches series depends which model customer is looking for
- Very robust hardware either IT or any catalyst industry switch
- The new ios-xe software under Cisco Catalyst Switches bring under the other catalyst router or wireless product to ease the troubleshoot from Cli.
Cons
- Good TAC support
- More documentation when the switch are management via Cisco Catalyst Switches
- Sometimes strange hardware choices have made for the different Catalyst model; as an example: Catalyst industry switch 3300 has 10g uplink whereas 3400 don't offer any 10g
- The positive part is the very robust hardware and the features it offers.
- The negative part is TAC support, still a lot of bugs which are sometimes not well documented.
