Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches
We use Cisco Catalyst Switches as access level switches in our network. We need them to be resilient as we have a 24/7 operation at our company. When they go down, the business is guaranteed to lose money. Both loss in productivity as well as loss in product. We also use them as the platform for our WLC.
Pros
- Packet Captures
- Port level configuration
Cons
- Ease of configuring for new network engineers
- Faster upgrades to reduce downtime
- Remove physical stacking
- Positive - Great reliability IF you keep the software up to date
- Negative - we have had various bugs where TAC could not give us a specific answer
- Negative - Physical port stacking isn't good for upgrades as it takes down all production networks that surround the IDF
- Webex Meetings
- Webex Calling
