Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches

We are using Cisco Catalyst Switches in our Campus around 100 sites.
Cisco Catalyst Switches are used for connectivity to WAN and DataCenters

Pros

  • Option to stack switches.
  • Auto-upgrade option.
  • Line Rate crypto for IPSec tunneling.

Cons

  • Supporting SFP's. Eg. Cisco 10gb LR sfp was not official supported on de 9K switches
  • Netconf differents between running-config and Atomic config replace (netconf). Configuration code is sometimes different. Makes compliancy check hard.
  • Licesing proces.
  • Line Rate crypto on all the boxes. Other vendors did not have this. Or the prices went up.
  • Webex App
