Overall Satisfaction with Cisco DNA Center

We started with Cisco DNA Center when it was still early on in beta to test out the features and provide feedback to the product units. In the early days it was mostly used to test the provisioning of SDAs, but six months ago we began a production deployment to design, provision, manage and monitor the new wireless environment. The aim from the beginning was to only use Cisco DNA Center to provision any settings to the wireless environment, which has caused some issues since not everything we need is available in Cisco DNA Center.
  • A single place for managing the configurations.
  • A single place to provision new locations and ensure the configuration is consistent and fast.
  • A single place to see my network quality.
  • You are unable to tweak all the settings you would like so you might need to do some manual work in the background.
  • You still need prime systems to do comprehensive management of the wireless environment.
  • If you change some of the settings manually, those can be overwritten next time you provision something.
  • It is not always clear what the impact is to production users when you need to change something new on the fly.
  • Cisco DNA Center makes it faster and more consistent to provision and manage the environment.
  • Connecting policies with networks provides easier management of security.
  • You are able to replicate the configurations easier from one customer to another if you are a managed service provider.
At the time of comparison, Juniper's solution was far far away from the capabilities Cisco DNA Center had for Enterprise Networking.
Cisco DNA Center fits perfectly if you are looking for a single place to provision and monitor your wireless and wired environment. If you are comfortable with being flexible with some of the details you might want, Cisco DNA Center can most likely get the job done.
