Overall Satisfaction with Cisco IP Phones
We started using Cisco IP Phones when we had to shift to work from home because of the Covid lockdown as we were using the traditional desk phones to answer our calls which our Users call in to report any issues to our service desk.
It is a Voice over IP system designed for unified communication within/outside the organization as this system can be used during Teams outage to contact the team members.

Pros
- Cost efficiency over traditiional desk phones
- Secure Communication line
- Centralized management of all the User accounts
Cons
- Initial upfront cost is very high
- Since this involves Network a lot of complex architecture is needed
- Not easy to understand the complex structure
- Network dependency and when the network lags the calls do not connect
- Cost efficiency as it reduces the telecom costs
- We can integrate with Emails, SMS etc
- Using the centralized management we have the option to forward the calls or set up automatic messages which are not possible with traditional desk phones
We started using the product during the Covid Lockdown as we were asked to work from home . The service desk team used to receive about 100 calls a day on desk phones but we had to switch to Cisco IP Phones in a short period of time to make sure we provide the support to our end users, The initial set up was very simple and only confined to Calls and not other functionality but over time we had all the functionality available and seamlessly we can use the Video capability.
