Overall Satisfaction with Cisco IP Phones

We started using Cisco IP Phones when we had to shift to work from home because of the Covid lockdown as we were using the traditional desk phones to answer our calls which our Users call in to report any issues to our service desk.
It is a Voice over IP system designed for unified communication within/outside the organization as this system can be used during Teams outage to contact the team members.

Pros

  • Cost efficiency over traditiional desk phones
  • Secure Communication line
  • Centralized management of all the User accounts

Cons

  • Initial upfront cost is very high
  • Since this involves Network a lot of complex architecture is needed
  • Not easy to understand the complex structure
  • Network dependency and when the network lags the calls do not connect
  • Cost efficiency as it reduces the telecom costs
  • We can integrate with Emails, SMS etc
  • Using the centralized management we have the option to forward the calls or set up automatic messages which are not possible with traditional desk phones
We started using the product during the Covid Lockdown as we were asked to work from home . The service desk team used to receive about 100 calls a day on desk phones but we had to switch to Cisco IP Phones in a short period of time to make sure we provide the support to our end users, The initial set up was very simple and only confined to Calls and not other functionality but over time we had all the functionality available and seamlessly we can use the Video capability.
We never contacted the support team directly as this product was managed by the Network team and when we had any issues the issue was rectified within a short period of time.

Do you think Cisco IP Phones delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco IP Phones's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco IP Phones live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Cisco IP Phones go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Cisco IP Phones again?

Yes

Cisco IP Phones are well suited for organizations that need unified communications and want to move away from traditional desk phones, Even though the Initial cost is high the cost reduces overtime. Highly useful for Service desk teams which work 24/7 to support the customers.

Less Appropriate for companies with lesser resources and work from Office most of the times.
