Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki Dashboard

I use the Cisco Meraki Dashboard on a daily basis for the MSP organization I work for. Having the ability to visually inspect all clients in a single dashboard is a fantastic solutions tool from a troubleshooting perspective. Further, having the ability to perform monthly assessments and firmware upgrades from one single dashboard is also an amazing benefit.

Pros

  • A "one stop shop" to inspect every aspect of a network.
  • The ability to "drill down" into any suspicious activity from any given network and device.
  • Having the entire Meraki family of production being managed in one UI is also a plus.

Cons

  • Can you please bring back the VPN user clients back? It was there in the previous dashboard.
  • In the most recent dashboard update, the VPN clients is no longer present (e.g. client's email address as the username when accessing the VPN, along with said password).
  • It would be nice for the connectivity bar which is green in color to show larger red markers when there are instances of network outages. I find it very hard to locate any of them.
  • For clients whom invest, it improves their response time.
  • For clients whom do not invest, it slows down the response time.
  • From a business perspective, we wish there were more affordable options.
Once you get the hang of where elements live in the Cisco Meraki Dashboard, navigation is a breeze. However, every so-often there are dashboard changes that move elements which is slightly a nuance. But, overall, the dashboard is a great tool to use once you know how to use it and digest the information.

From an MSP perspective, having the Cisco Meraki Dashboard is a fantastic solutions to have for our clients. As a majority of our staff is trained to use this all in one solution, this makes troubleshooting and resolution much more efficient. The only caveat for some clients is the cost of the yearly licensing, which turns off some clients.
