Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MR
I deploy Cisco Meraki MR devices, mostly for guest and corporate access at remote sites around the world. The main reason that I deploy Cisco Meraki MR products is that the IT teams I work with are quite lite on resources and the Meraki products that I deploy really help with managing the solution.
- Management
- Upgrades
- Support
- Umbrella integration
- Ease of management
- Zero touch provisioning
- Management from a single Pain of Glass
The Meraki management portal insures that the solution can be managed from a central location. I work with organisations with lots of small offices and the Meraki portfolio ensures that once that office has been deployed, then pretty much looks after itself. I really like the upgrade Capability of the product, ensuring the smooth operation of a remote site.
the Cisco MR ax points, integrate really well with Cisco Umbrella. There is an API integration between the two dashboards and once linked it’s a really simple process of pulling down your umbrella policies and attaching it onto the SSID’s you have on your network. You still need to use the umbrella reporting functionality in their own dashboard to look at what traffic has been blocked or allowed by umbrella.
When considering a solution you need you really need to take into account the environments that you are deploying into. If you request something that is fully configurable, then you are more likely to deploy the Cisco Catalyst controller. With the Meraki solution, one of the major selling points is the dashboard and how easy it is to manage. In most cases, the features available in a Meraki solution are sufficient for 80% of customers.
