We have utilized Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches 9396 as our distribution layer switches. With the available bandwidth provided, it has helped with the high traffic that has gone through our datacenter across our multiple locations.
Pros
- VRF capabilities
- High ability to port-channel
Cons
- Nothing that comes to mind at this time
- Cost was quite a bit upfront and lifecycle could be a bit bothersome depending on situations
By redoing our data center infrastructure, this was a choice made by our network team and architecture team.
If you're looking or a device that provides throughput with no other configuration, this is the device.
