Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Room Series

We use a range of Room series devices in our organization that fulfills a range of purposes. We have everything from small meeting rooms for 2 people, up to larger training spaces and board rooms. Having Webex allows us to easily walk into a space and connect with customers and stake holders. Having the flexibility of the larger Room kits allows us to provide rich training to staff, as well as hosting information sessions. This helps to resolve issue around communication with a business that is spread across the country.

Pros

  • Probably one of the best ones we had recently was using some of the new layouts within the room kits. We've had some kind of hybrids of large groups on site as well as individuals connecting through WebEx and being able to display things out properly and have the presentations easily visible as well as still seeing the presenter. It just makes things a lot easier to work with.
  • People tracking
  • Frames

Cons

  • Probably one of the biggest things for me is we recently got some board units and they don't talk very well if they're in the same room as more equipment. So it would be great to be able to actually have more than one piece of equipment in a room and just have them talk to each other. That's a major issue we have at the moment.
  • Not sure about ROI because I get a lot of the, I suppose, investor's side of it all, but we have it integrated with just about everyone in the business as well as having devices everywhere. So to be able to just press a button and ring somebody, it's almost invaluable.
I have evaluated other systems such as hardware for teams, and custom setups using Logitech and Yealink hardware. Using Cisco hardware has been much easier to deploy and integrate with the business, from using small Webex Mini devices in quiet booths, up to large EQX deployments in our boardrooms. There is a device for every scenario and easy to implement.
We do have some direct contacts as part of our agreements with Cisco and they're always just a phone call away.
The only warranty claims that we have had to complete has been for Navigator devices, but this is a very rare occurrence. Software support has been great, and the team are very thorough when assisting with troubleshooting.
A lot of the features are really easy. You can just click connect and you're in. But using all of these other integrations and all these other features that are there, it's kind of the blind leading the blind as to how we use it. So it's probably the downside of it.

Do you think Cisco Room Series delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco Room Series's feature set?

No

Did Cisco Room Series live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco Room Series go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Room Series again?

Yes

So with our current setups, it's quite hard to do really large groups as well as having lots of individuals and having everyone still feel like they're part of it. It tends to just fall to whoever you can see on the screen at the time and then the mass in the room. But things where it does work really well is we run regular, I suppose, business-wide updates, we call them town halls, and being able to have everyone connect easily no matter where they are in Australia just to be a part of it.
