Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Routers

We use the ISRs for WAN connection via MPLS and carrier diversity.
- Somewhat easy to design and configure
- When we have problems TAC is always able to help us with the issues
- The ability for carrier diversity and backup links controlled by route maps makes for a great platform
- Not having a built in rollback feature for when a configure change causes unexpected results
- Different command suites on the ISRs verses nexus
- iOS upgrades that cause existing features to sometimes respond unexpectedly
The ability to add modules like wireless and cellular is great for small offices so they don’t have to buy multiple devices for the solution needed.
TACACS (terminal access controller access control system) with fallback to local is great for login management. Also, built-in firewall modules assist greatly in securing small to medium businesses.
Utilization like netflow for data analysis and even WAAS (wide area application services) modules help to improve data speed and consultancy.
I have been doing this for many years and as far as routers go, Cisco has always been the go-to and the only thing I use or recommend.
