Overall Satisfaction with Cisco SD-WAN

Children's is a pediatric healthcare system in Minnesota. We operate two hospital campuses in Minnesota and approximately 25 primary care and rehab locations around the Twin Cities metro area. We use SD-WAN to provide connectivity among these locations and our colocated data center. All locations are currently connected by multiple metro ethernet/carrier connections and we will be adding local internet connections this year.

Cisco SD-WAN is a huge step forward for us allowing centralized management for all of our locations.
  • Easy provisioning
  • Consistent configurations at site
  • Efficient use of multiple connections per site
  • Templates should be organized better and more easily identifiable per function
  • There needs to be a better way to examine device config. There is a lot of clicking around right now.
  • Centralized Management
  • Scalability
  • Standardized configs allow for easier support, both internally and from partners
The management tools and the integration into our enterprise network are better with the Cisco solution. Similarity to other Cisco products has allowed us faster startup time and less training requirements.

Would you buy Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN again?

I feel like don't have enough experience with the product under my belt to adequately answer this question. As stated before, the phone home type provisioning and centralized management features are great time savers for us.
