Overall Satisfaction with Conga Composer

It is the current package solution in my company's Accounting software for printing Payment Remittances and Sales Invoices and sending documents electronically. Many of our customers use it, and as I support that software, I assist those customers with troubleshooting any issues with its use.

Pros

  • Quickly produces PDF documents from templates.
  • Allows templates for documents to be customised to suit use case.
  • Gives a great and consistent result for the sending of branded media.

Cons

  • Some customisations such as document formats cannot be catered for.
  • Some of the interfacing of templates could be more intuitive.
  • Avoid too much need for knowledge of coding and scripting for use of the product.
  • Timely document creation to ensure important records reach customers quickly.
  • Documents generated to act as sources of truth and are contractually binding, so the product is very reliable.
  • The documents generated are on brand and provide a consistent archive for protocol and audit purposes.
I have given a slightly lower rating because, overall, the product rarely has any issues. Most of our customers use the software without needing to report one. However, as my role involves troubleshooting the product when it does, I am aware of the pitfalls and problems that arise when using Conga.
Our company uses Conga mostly for document generation for procedural changes or additions to customer software, so the documents need to be clear, concise, and comprehensive. The documents created then serve as contractually sensitive records and must adhere to company protocols. The consistent and reliable nature of Conga Document Generation has only had a positive impact on our document workflow.

I have nothing but praise for the product. It suits the needs of our customers extremely well, especially those who require a less generic and more branded solution to their document generation needs. The batch process capability allows our customers to send documents in bulk to their own customer base with ease.
