We enjoy using Conga Composer to help aid our company in optimizing and perfecting our daily operations. Our company has found Conga Composer to be a useful tool that simplifies daily processes such as creating quotes, creating POs, and creating detailed reports that then allow us to export from Salesforce. There is a learning curve with it and its capabilities. I still don't feel as though I am using Conga Composer to the best of its abilities. So far, the Conga composer has gotten us to where we need, though. Grateful for the tool and its abilities.
Our business problems we were having at our organization were using excel to create the quotes, creating the POs, and creating detailed reports. Now using Conga, we are able to pull the data straight out of Salesforce and into an excel for further changes to be made. Or straight into a PDF so that no further changes can be made to the document. Once we create, either the excel or the PDF, it autosaves into that file and pulls open the file into the associated choice. Having a tool that is multi-functional to our business is key to its success and allows us to continue with an eased workflow.

Conga Composer is able to aid my company in creating simplified and concise quotes to send to our customers. We are also using Conga Composer to create our Purchase Orders. We can then download into and excel or a PDF. This multi-functional tool has aided our business in creating these quotes and Purchase orders in a duplicatable format.

We use Conga Composer to facilitate document creation and automation with our Customer Relationship Management. It is an integrated application with our CRM that handles generation of proposals, contracts and other form of document that pulls data from the CRM.
  • Proposal generation
  • Contract generation and sending
  • Invoice generation and sending
  • Customer Support
  • Easy to find answers
I don't have scenario where I can say that Conga can't be utilized. In fact, I am really a fan of Conga that even I experienced difficulty in finding answers to my questions, it is still part of my application list. Conga is very versatile when it comes to document generation. If you have the data in your CRM, you can be sure that you can automate documents that will definitely save you a lot of time.

Currently, we use Conga to provide our client's reports like improvement plans and transcripts that pulls information from a variety of objects within Salesforce. We have created buttons for our internal users to be able to pull the information quickly. We use it for queries that then pull into reports. The format of the reports can be created with branding and a nicer feel than Salesforce provides.
  • Customer service
  • Integration with Salesforce
  • Education and training
  • More user end training
  • More live classes
  • More cost friendly
Between the customer service and educating the admin to be more effective, we love Conga and all that it stands for. They are a fun exciting organization and treat their customers very highly. I know when I call, even though they have many clients, they make me feel heard and are very responsive. They are wonderful troubleshooters that really help guide your needs.

The generation of documents in Salesforce requires code. Conga Composer enabled us to configure the look and feel of the document through a Word template. We used it to generate customer-facing documents like quotes, offers and business proposals. We might use to generate letters as well
  • Different document types like pdf, doc etc.
  • Option to edit template in MS Word
  • It is slow to generate document
  • It is very complex to prepare data
  • Administration is not straightforward, there are a lot of places where something needs to be configured
  • Limited options for processing of data once it is retrieved from Salesforce
  • Cumbersome formatting of tables and nested tables
  • Limitations around table generation
  • A lot of features are paid add-ons
It is suited for simple documents that are not big. For anything more complex, it's not ideal. It is a step forward compared to the document generation using VF page.
Use it if you buy it together with Conga CLM (which has a different document generation tool). Otherwise, look elsewhere, there are better and faster alternatives

We use Conga Composer for our insurance documents such as Policies, Claims, Renewals, etc. Conga Composer allows us to create these documents quickly based off of templates and data stored in our Salesforce Instance. We use Conga regularly both for our annual renewals of existing clients and generating new policy documents for our new clients.
  • Merging data
  • Merge speed
  • Template management
Right now there is a tech issue where the templates we have been editing and uploading are periodically being reverted to their original template by Conga, which causes our documents to be pulled incorrectly. We have been working with their tech team for several months to try to get this resolved but there has not been a solution.

We use Conga Composer to manage our quoting, estimating, and procurement documentation. It enables us to create standardized processes in these areas and improve branding, continuity, and information retention. In addition to all that, it also creates efficiencies within our Salesforce platform reducing data entry for users and creating a seamless experience for our sales and operations teams.
  • Compatibility with various document types
  • Ease of integration within Salesforce
  • Tools to develop templates within the system
  • User interface within the Salesforce platform
  • More variety in button and interface options for generating templates on objects
  • A more guided process for developing templates
I think Conga is suited to any company within Salesforce that is looking to easily generate documents out of the platform in a streamlined experience for the end user.

We use Conga Composer to build complex reports that meet very specific parameters. It is easy to navigate and set up but there are lots of details that go into actually building the queries and solutions, many of which I think could be more user-friendly. So far it has been very helpful in regards to the reports that we build to see a very specific subset of data.
  • Build a solution.
  • Assign queries to the related solution and set up pass-through filters.
  • Edit queries to your specific needs.
  • Provide one central spot where I can see what solutions are using specific queries.
  • Provide one central spot that shows me what queries are using certain fields.
  • Make the act of creating queries more of a step-by-step process.
I am unsure of other scenarios where Conga Composer would be more appropriate as I have only ever used it for one particular use case. I will say that it has been very helpful in the times I have used it to set up specific reports where Salesforce is simply not efficient. Some of the processes could certainly be more user-friendly but all in all, it is a very solid program.

We use Conga Composer for dynamic generation of invoice documents / payment remittance details / Account Statements / and complex report requirements. It is useful to generate output in both excel and word formats for users. The emailing functionality is heavily utilized as well along with Conga Trigger and Conga Batch. This allows for the automated communication and sending of documents to end customers.
  • Dynamic Table Rendering in Word
  • Complex Queries for Data to be displayed
  • Write Back Updates to Salesforce Records
  • Seamless email integration with Salesforce
  • Automation through batch / trigger
  • Solution Builder helps speed development
  • Deployment of Solutions between Salesforce Environments
  • Deployment of Templates between Salesforce Environments
  • Merging and combining of multiple attachments (more control over the combined output)
Conga is a great tool for generating complex documents from many different salesforce data sources. This works well for things such as project status reports and invoice documents, where many different tables of data need to be pulled and displayed. For very large documents (such as organizational level reporting) Conga is not the best as it will run into governor limits on the number of rows allowed

We use Conga Composer to generate our Quotes, Contracts and RMAs and it is integrated into our SalesForce.
  • Fast support response
  • Generates professional and easy to read documents
  • Easy integration into CRM
  • not user inuitive
  • learning curve
Once the program is set up, it is relatively easy to use. However, setup can be tedious and difficult without support. As with most technical support, if you need help, it can be hit or miss. I've had support with Conga who went above and beyond and was able to solve my issues immediately but I've also had support who were difficult to work with and made an existing issue more frustrating. They do respond in a very timely manner which is always appreciated.

We are a consulting firm and partner with Conga and use all conga products like conga composer, conga contracts, conga sign, and conga batch. We implemented conga solutions for various clients. One of the companies uses composer to send the contracts generated by conga contracts using composer and conga sign. Also, to generate the royalty statement using conga composer with conga batch. We further used conga parameters to integrate to download the statements on the shared drive. Very helpful as conga provide integration with lot of different tools like docu sign, adobe sign, box, one drive etc.
  • To generate the contracts documents if you use conga contracts.
  • To generate any document like credit memo, royalty statements.
  • Conga batch converts the button URL to formulate, send, or download statements in bulk.
  • Could work very well with Docu sign and Adobe sign and one drive
  • Increase the batch size of conga batch from 200.
  • Make composer debug log more clear to make the issue resolve quickly.
  • Some composer parameters are not available to add directly from the solution builder.
We think Conga suite solutions are best to use if you want to generate multiple documents and send these documents to multiple users or contacts. Conga composer with Conga Sign and Conga batch makes work a lot easy and helps to save a lot of time. Document generation is now really easy and effective.

We use Conga Composer for a myriad of our services that we provide to clients. We use Conga Composer for documents to generate different information across different objects (departments) in Salesforce. We invested in this product due to the capabilities to further streamline our internal processes and client file engagement.
  • Combines information
  • Streamlines processes
  • User friendly for regular consumers
  • Tutorial videos on set up or creative work flows
I have not used the program frequently, mostly due to the program not being entirely user-friendly for regular consumers/users.

We use Conga Composer for all of our invoice formats and Sales Credit notes. We are an international company and at this juncture have 80+ invoices templates that we manage in a variety of currencies. We find Conga Composer very easy to use once you learn the system. Making edits to the templates for changes in addresses or bank accounts is easy. Our users find generating the invoices to be very intuitive and they like that they can send to Excel to make specific client requested updates.
  • Ability to send invoices to Excel or directly to PDF
  • Pulls data from a variety of objects - accounts, SIN, project, etc.
  • Easy to update templates
  • Bit of a learning curve to understand how to update invoices - does take programmer or database admin type knowledge
  • It would be nice if bank account or our office locations could pull from the database so we could update these instead of every template
We find the Conga invoices very intutitive to use once they are created. It does take a dba or someone familiar with database objects to create the invoice templates initially and to maintain them on an ongoing basis.

Conga Composer allows us to generate documents at the press of a button. It's a great tool which allows users to generate documents that pull information directly from Salesforce. We also use Conga Sign to which eliminates the use of paper documents and allows us to send documents which require a signature directly to a customer. We then get notifications and are able to report on what's been signed or not.
  • Easy document generation from Salesforce
  • Great support
  • The ability to report on transactions
  • The set up needs someone who is technically minded
  • Resolving error messages can sometimes need support
We are able to send documents directly to customers via email using Conga Sign, previously these documents were been printed and needed a wet signature. The document would then be uploaded manually. Using Conga Sign takes a lot of the effort out and also risk. It keeps an audit in Salesforce so we can see what has happened.

So, far we have used this integration with a new SF platform we are building and it is pretty good. We have to generate documents for customers. Such as invoices, proposals, savings details, etc. Conga is going to be our generation service to have these documents sent over to customers.
  • Free edit.
  • Populates quickly.
  • Flexibility with templates.
  • Carrying over complex template fields.
  • Not have to bypass the screen to choose PDF or another file type.
  • Mimic document text formats better.
I like the flexibility of it and how quickly it loads the documents. I also like that you can free edit on it, being in an office setting, our documents are ever-changing, and having the ability to edit text on a document right in our system and then export it is going to be a game changer and time-saving. We are still in the dev stages of our system so I have not fully got to experience Conga but I am sure it will be a great fit for us.

We use Conga to create documents, create agreements, create labels, capture signatures, and capture payment information. We also use Conga to generate inventory reports. I believe we have a very complex use scenario for Conga and happily, it meets all our needs.
  • Customer onboarding agreements.
  • Payment method capture.
  • Complex tables.
  • Set up difficulty.
  • Custom link difficulty
  • Query difficulty.
It's more suited if your processes are well established and you don't change a lot. Once you get a document up and going it's good to go but it can take a long time to get there. Be careful if you have multiple record types.

We use Congar Composer to produce proposals, when quote products, installation or both. We work in two currencies, NZD and AUD, Conga Composer allows us to use different templates depending on what is being quoted, and where.
  • templates
  • video and picture intergration
  • adaptable
  • easy to use
  • Two templates on the go at once - for different currencies, currently we swap out the NZ proposal with the AU proposal as we need to
Well suited to creating lightning proposals - as this is the only feature we use, I'm not sure I can comment further

We use Conga Composer for simple document production. Our Conga instance is imbedded in our Salseforce platform, and is very useful for generating specific documents we need to produce for our donors. For example, we generate invoices and acknowledgments to our donors on an individual ad-hoc basis, and we are able to send them via email to our constituents. This saves time and also allows us to operate with a smaller printing budget.
  • Integrates with our Database
  • Allows for specific customization options
  • Provides training and support with integration and use
  • Easier to understand template building process
Conga Composer is well suited for individual one off creation of certain documents. It doesn't seem to be as well suited for bulk data needs, at least not with the version that my organization is subscribed for.

Conga Composer enables the Australian office correspondence team to generate letters, financial giving statements, and receipts that are either printed for physical dispatch or to be emailed.
  • Enables us to create fully customizable letter templates
  • Integrates well with Salesforce
  • Simple to use
  • Takes a long while to load the templates.
  • Template merge fields can be a little temperamental at times.
  • Adding merge fields to templates could be made more user friendly.
Conga Composer was a good solution to our requirement for producing letter/statements/receipt templates within Salesforce. Although the app takes a while to load the templates, it's been fast enough for our team to generate them while on a call and get them sent via email or printed for postal dispatch. It works well and is relatively simple to use.

We currently use Composer to develop word document reports that pull information from various salesforce reports that are either meant to only be utilized internally or that are to be shared with our stakeholders. This amounts to about ~300 documents generated in a year. It is more flexible than a mail merge. It so far meets our needs well and we hope to deploy it for additional solutions this year.
  • Pulls in data from various sources
  • Allows for customized reports
  • Functionality to export reports as well as save to records
  • It is challenging to go from solutions to templates and then to each account record to generate - is there a way to generate for all?
  • the search for reports is unwieldy - can there be a "recents" to cut down on what reports we are searching through? or a way to view folders.
  • i have tried saving time by having conga composer up on several records and you can't generate records. again, if there is a way to generate for all?
It so far has been well-suited for individualized reports via microsoft word. We are looking to see what possibilities there are with excel reports and are excited about that. It might be less appropriate for less complex reports because the set up can be more complex than a simple mail merge. however, ability to generate and then save/email directly in salesforce is fantastic.

We have multiple Salesforce orgs, and most of them are implemented with Conga Composer for document generation purposes. Instances and respective Conga Composer implementations have different use cases and different distribution implementations to support the business operations and processes. It automates and enables business users to just have to click a button to generate the required documents for the customers. Documents range from agreements, claims, audits, plans, and a whole lot more document types, where templates range from simple to complex contents, logic, and layout. Some use cases revolve around finishing up a business process with the ultimate result of having a link to the form directed to the generated document. There are some use cases where Conga Composer is integrated with DocuSign for electronic signatures from multiple parties. For automated document generation, Conga Composer is the default solution go to in the organization - maximizing the usage and investment in this amazing tool.
  • Document generation.
  • Integration with DocuSign.
  • Leverages and supports Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel features and capabilities to achieve the desired generated document outcome.
  • Providing the tool or facility to make solutions and managing easy. Having the availability of Conga Composer Solution Manager is a big improvement - all the solution details and components in one view.
  • Allow quotes in merged field values. We have a lot of cases the solution built with Conga doesn't work for particular records because of valid data with quotes supplied by the users.
  • Support nested if conditional statement as currently, we are addressing this via creating a formula field in Salesforce and using this as a merged field. With this, we don't need to create the Salesforce formula field, as some objects might already be hitting a number of custom fields limit.
  • To prompt with a specific and descriptive error message to clearly indicate what the issue is. Let's say the error can be due to a field value with a quote - indicate the affected field; operation canceled - be specific that the error is due to expected data not being available, etc.
From simple to complex document generation output requirements.

We use Conga Composer and Conga sign to send all of our business proposals as well as other documents such as engagement letters. This involves converting PowerPoint and Word files into a writeable document within Conga. From there we are able to use the template builder and merge tags to automate writing client information to the document. This document is sent to our client lists to request a signature or other confirmation. The signed document is then saved back to our Salesforce on the appropriate record. The entire process as I've described it is very simple and intuitive, even for a first time user.

For background, I am an Accidental Admin in Salesforce, which is to say I inherited this role after a personnel change so I have had to learn all of this on the fly. In addition to being easy to use, Conga provides great support and every problem that I have run into has been fixed quickly and I have been able to keep my users happy.
  • Automated document creation
  • Proposal sending
  • Document Signing (with Conga Sign)
  • So many features it is hard to know where to start
  • Sometimes difficult to use
I have found that Conga Composer is very well suited for automated document generation, sending and signing. I have not yet encountered an area where it does not work well, though this could be because our use cases are built around Conga Composer capabilities as we understand them or they were explained to us.

Conga Composer specifically helps you auto-populate your contracts via numerous amounts of IF Clauses that you can set up. This allows you to customize the contract for each client without having to manually edit a Word document.
  • Complex contract drafting.
  • Customizations for your business.
  • UX antiqued.
  • Complex for conga administrators.
  • The steep learning curve on the back end for administrators.
Conga Composer is well suited for businesses with engineering staff to help with the set-up. For smaller-sized businesses, a lighter solution may be better for you. It requires a heavy amount of routine maintenance, which is a factor to consider before selecting Conga.

Conga Composer allows our small team to efficiently draft contracts based on our complicated CPQ model. Conga Composer has drastically reduced the amount of time spent on re-drafting our contract form to meet the custom use cases presented by product selection. Conga Composer has also reduced the number of errors that occur during this redrafting process.
  • Integrates seamlessly with CPQ.
  • Makes contract drafting less prone to human error.
  • Reduces time spent drafting contracts.
  • It can be a bit finicky if your contract outlines have more than 2 levels.
