Overall Satisfaction with Control-M
Control-M is the central Workload Automation Software we're using. It's the orchestrator between different components like databases, data warehouses, financing, data transfers, etc. We're using some of the job types and options Control-M has included, but we're also very actively using the ability to create and modify Control-M and job types for our needs. With these options to change, we can specifically address our customer's needs for data flows and workloads. Control-M's options to monitor and survey the production also help us to notify and react immediately if a problem occurs. To sum up, Control-M helps us to automate and monitor our key applications and workflows.

Cons
- Include more of the jobs we have to create on our own.
- Give more options to modify certain screens with our Corporate Identity.
- We can't number the ROI, but it has undoubtedly stabilized our production, especially data transfers.

We've not found another WLA software that provides the options to modify and create job types as Control-M does. Also, many of the standard functions are very useful.

We didn't need to purchase extra support.
Yes - It depends on the issue. A lot of times, you have to upgrade to a newer version for a fix.
We've had a couple issues with file transfer in the recent past. Although it's unfortunate to have the issues to begin with, the support and R&D did everthing they could to solve the issues. It might also include having to work with BMC for a couple of weeks after the original issue.
