Overall Satisfaction with Control-M

Control-M is one of the best automation tool we are using in our organization. The main features we are using are MFT control module and DB control module. The safest & easiest way to transfer the files is with MFT and we can connect to any type of database with the help of DB module. This is very much flexible to schedule/automate daily routine tasks in the job scheduling as well as with the help of calendars.

Cons

  • While installing sometimes it asks for JAVA version to be installed manually to support the actual product
  • I think whatever the required version(java/openssl) should come with the product to support the smooth installation

I am very much happy to recommend or suggest BMC Control-M to anyone, as this tool has amazing features to automate the manual tasks and can schedule and get the alerts/notifications in case of failures. Easy to monitor and even business people can directly monitor and take actions according to their needs (self service is very much helpful).

To automate the daily BAU tasks so that we can save many number of MAN hours, at the same time to transfer any data securely the MFT control module plays a crucial role. Control-M supports N number of different control modules to supports different applications and we can integrate new applications with the help of AAPI.
